Well, if gsw does have a battle system (which would be awesome!) we should be able to use djinn, right? Well if we had quests in the game that would be cool. Do a quest get a dijinn or a new wepon. I think that this would be awesome and make the game a lot more fun to play. Also if gsw had Psynergy was ever put into the game, we could have obsticales and races between characters and at the end have a battle like at the shaman village in TLA.
Gsw should have a chat program like a whisper so u can privatley whisper to a frend. And if gsw has a battle system, ther should be little inns so you can heal your character but for a fee.
I know that these features would be hard to put into the game max but i think the game would have a lot more success. I would be willing to wait untill these are put into the game. There is no rush. Does anyone else like my ideas?

It's JUST an simple interactive chat. Think of it like MSN Messenger... but you get to walk around in a world and play more complex games than MSN.

An interactive Golden Sun community, so says the site. I'm gonna kill myself if this becoems a Wota Remake. Don't expect a battle system like that of what you're used to, though. I think Max has something up his sleeve.

Hahahahaha, man...I wish i got into Wota when it was out. I think it would be a cool idea though if it was just like gs(not necisarilly the map) but that you could play with other people. Wota was awesome, so I have heard, I wish i woulda played it when it was out.

I didn't like War of the Adepts all that much, to tell you the truth. GSW's more fluid and less choppy than WotA. We can only expect even more streamlined stuff next server test.

That's because WotA didn't use Macromedia flash <_<

WotA used Gamemaker, if I recall correctly. Heck, it might not have been, but it felt like one for sure.

WotA was made by ikillkenny in Visual Basic, not any game program. VB was designed for making Windows applications, not games as much. He also didn't really care about the graphics, he was more concerned with making it multiplayer battles.

AveneR and I are perfectionists to an extent, and so we strove from the beginning to make GSW as fluid as possible in the goal of emulating the GS engine to the best of our ability. I don't anticipate that changing any time in the future.

I agree with WD, this isn't about battles and djinni, it's about being able to chat in an interactive environment. The only thing I want to see is Super Lucky Dice, then I'll be happy.

I would also like to just have a bunch of minigames. Being able to get loads of money, and buy loads of balloons.

If it could also be in the style of the game that would be great too. We don't mean to push, Max :P We're just excited.

The goal of GSW is, first and foremost, to create a game that will be fun for all of you. It was originally meant to be an interactive chat plus mini-games, and that is still our goal. Mini-games are a bit harder to do, but once we have the basics down on the interactive chat and underlying engine we should be able to start rolling out mini-games.

The chat is probably the msot important of all the systems in GSW, as I understand. it makes total sense to put that above all else so far.

Of course GSW is focussed mostly on communty, and that's great as it is, but I think adding a batle system in would be great. it would be fun to fight other players and would add a competetive element that should keep people coming back.

But if a battle system makes the chat part lag so much that it's just not fun anymore, maybe it would be a bad idea. I don't know much about flash, but if there were to be a battle system, would there be more lag?

No, I don't see how there would be any additional lag at all. If anything, there would be less lag, as it takes less data transfer to keep a battle status updated than it does to take a chat map updated. Alot less actually. So yeah, I don't forsee that being a problem.

By my understanding, GSW's chat system as well as walking and stuff needs to be finished and foolproof before anything else can be added.

@Venus: We've hardly set up the chat system yet. A battle sytem's gonna be a long way away.

I agree, we have to work with what we got and a chat system is in the future and I don't see a battle system anytime soon.

Just to reinforce what has been said already: a battle system is a long ways away. I mentioned it in one of the other topics because we are definately interested in doing a battle system at some point, probably for version 2, but right now we are much more focused on the standard features and mini-games, which everyone can enjoy.

If we had a battle system, we would probably need player levels. If we had that, then it might feel like an MMORPG. D: I don't want GSW to feel like an MMORPG.

Yeah. If there was a battle system, then more people would become interested, and stay longer, then if it was just chatting and mini games. But, GSW's first and foremost, above all else goal, is to allow people from around the world to chat in a Golden Sun environment. Not really for games, just chatting. But I too would be overjoyed to see a battle system come into view.
