I know that we are well into them now, but I figured we needed a topic.

I am extremely excited, because the Canadian men's team has made it into the final round of curling, against Finland. This is especially awesome because this year's men's team comes from Newfoundland, my obscure little province. I watched them win first in the Briar tournament, earning them the honour of reprisenting Canada in the olympics, and now they've made it even farther, to the gold-metal round. They're a really good team, and Finland only barely beat them; team Gushue was playing better than them. So they should win this match, because they are an extremely talented team, but even if they don't, they'll get a Silver.

The fact that our little Newfoundland team got this far is an extremely huge deal, and this match will be a historic event here in newfoundland (the minister of education has closed ALL the schools in the province for the afternoon tomorrow so we can watch the match).

So... yeah. I really hope my team plays the best they've ever played, and even if they lose, I will always remember tomorrow's match.

So basically comment on the whole curling thing, or talk about the olympics in general (speaking of the olympics in general, I think Canada is 3rd in the medal standings, which is awesome).

Good topic dude. Yeah I watch the Olympics too but only ice skating really. The Netherlands is doing pretty good. I believe we have around 3 times bronze now. <_<

I love the olympics, the medal count is a palpable and quantifyable way of showing just how much better we are than everyone else. Well, it usually is... Last I checked we were ited for third with friggin' Russia! What's the medal for "tied third with Russia?" Barium? And all these other countries are getting busted for blood doping and steriods. Clearly they want it more than us! Come on people! USA! USA! USA!

WEWONWEWONWEWON! Though it was pretty close for the first 5 ends, Team Canada scored six points in the sixth end, and it was over by the eighth, the score being 10-4. I think that the real star of the game was Mark Nichols, who curled something like 97% overall, which is absolutely phenominal - he made some truely amazing shots.

I'm still talking about curling by the way, in case that was unclear.

So yeah... I had a good day <_<

Canada is doing great this time around. I highly doubt we can get 35 medals in Vancouver in four years but still it looks promising.

I always watch the Olympics and the Winter is more exciting for me because in the Summer, most of the events involve swimming and they are all essentially the same.

Canada's Men hockey team = sucks. That is all.

I found The downhill snowboarding the best sport to watch for the Winter Olympics.

Shaun White and the half-pipe was fun to watch too though, that had to be my favorite moment so far.

I watched the Canada vs. Russia game, but other than that I don't really care who wins the hockey anymore.

...You're kidding me right? = = atleast show some compassion.
The team was a great matchup. We lost because we had absolutely no chemistry and no heart. I think everyone just expected the medal to be handed over. Nobody really worked hard during the game with Russia except Broduer. sigh*
I hope Sweden wins =p i love their jerseys haha.

I haven't really shown much interest in the olympics. I guess I just prefer the summer version.
Or maybe it's because Britain only have one medal. (And that's only a silver).

Every day in the newspaper here there's a new article on how we should best celebrate Cindy Klassen. She's won five medals at these games and that ties the most of any athlete ever at a winter games. And she's from Winnipeg! Her homecoming is going to be crazy here.

Man, I need someone to fill me in on who got what 'cause our TV provider, a local fiber optic cable company, went under, and my dad wont get dish or direct TV. So I didn't get to watch a second of it.

Traditionally, the US doesn't win the most medals in the Winter Games, though they always get a good haul. Germany has had the most in the last couple Olympics.
