For starters, you have the Olympic games every four years. That involves athletes from all over the world competing. That in itself should be enough, but no. Then you have the Winter Olympics ever four years, but in between the regular Olympics. So you have people from all over the world competing every 2 years at plenty of sports etc. But, just because some countries are quite clearly ****ier than others, you have to have the Commonwealth games. Where all the suckass countries that don't win anything at the real games get a chance for some glory.
Aside from that, the ****ing games are ruining my year 12 by giving us a 6 week term now and then a 14 week term for term 2. How bull**** is that?
Commonwealth games = ***.

it is a load of crap and two or three get kicked out of the commonwealth between each games (Zibambwe) so eventually there won't be any left yay! Congratualtions you won gold at the commonwealth, that's only becuase the country that would that event at the olympics isn't part of the commonwealth, so basically being in the commonwealth you get some free sporting medals and have to attend some conferenc eonce a year

I'm sorry, Australia's on 153 medals, second is England on 72 and third is India on 34. Is there really a point in other countries even turning up?

Point 2: Who cares? It's the medals that count. Don't make such a big deal about it.

How can you say that? These games are going to work wonders for our economy, and besides, the events aren't half bad.

Man I wish. They'd need the whole army in the area I live in.
Anyway I'll get back on topic now. I haven't had a huge interest in the commonwealth games, but I'm glad that Britain are winning a few medals in it. We rarely win anything!

I don't really care for the commonwealths either, except when they came to Victoria in 1994. I'm just waiting for the Winter O to come here in 2010.
