Biggest. Crock of ****. Ever.
For starters, you have the Olympic games every four years. That involves athletes from all over the world competing. That in itself should be enough, but no. Then you have the Winter Olympics ever four years, but in between the regular Olympics. So you have people from all over the world competing every 2 years at plenty of sports etc. But, just because some countries are quite clearly ****ier than others, you have to have the Commonwealth games. Where all the suckass countries that don't win anything at the real games get a chance for some glory.
Aside from that, the ****ing games are ruining my year 12 by giving us a 6 week term now and then a 14 week term for term 2. How bull**** is that?

Congratualtions you won gold at the commonwealth, that's only becuase the country that would that event at the olympics isn't part of the commonwealth, so basically being in the commonwealth you get some free sporting medals and have to attend some conferenc eonce a year

With the theme a boy and his fish? I didn't even watch it. I'm with Agatio on this one, sure a nice short 6week term is nice but a 14week term, man it's just BS. I find it amusing the Government made such a short term so people would take their kids to the games, phh my dad got invited through work and he couldn't care less.

that medal system is total ****, gold are worth more than silvers yes, but shouldn't rank a country with 1 gold higher than one with 10000 silvers, which is what the system is like, therefore ****.

Yea it is bull. Canada has 63 medals compared to India's 40, but since they're behind by 3 gold they're ranked 4th.

Anyway I'll get back on topic now. I haven't had a huge interest in the commonwealth games, but I'm glad that Britain are winning a few medals in it. We rarely win anything!

I wouldn't expect the c-wealth's to be of interest here. The majority of GSSF is American after all.
I don't really care for the commonwealths either, except when they came to Victoria in 1994. I'm just waiting for the Winter O to come here in 2010.
