In short someone in my household is looking at something they shouldn't be, does anyone have or know the name of a good firewall/fliter so I can restrict what is being viewed. (Kinda like the search fliters on Google but I don't know away to lock in a particular setting)

    Help is much appreciated.

Well, I don't know about filters for blocking sites, but if your worried about viruses, get Norton System Works, the newest version, to kill the viruses, and download Zone Alarm Pro to help block intruders.

The elementary school I used to go to used NetNanny. It isn't too bad for a filter. I'm not to sure about its full capabilities, since I haven't tampered with the program in a long time.

I use Zonealarm and it works great. The pro verion is even better, I would definitely recommend it.

I have a trial of ContentProtector, works ok, although I don't like being told I'm viewing porn when I go to look at the session times at the movies. Also does anyone know how to ban particular sites?

If you're using IE, go to properties, click the Security tab, and select 'Restricted Sites'. Then just click on the Sites... button and type in the site you wish to ban.

Although, your friend will still be able to unban it if they know how.

Sorry Spilt but due to the amount of spyware on IE I don't use it.

But you raise a good point, does anyone know how to ban sites on Firefox? I deleted my trial of the program becauase it lagged my internet too much in online games.

I just looked through all of Firefox, and I don't see any way to control that option. However, another great freeware tabbed browser is Maxthon, and you can control those security options just like you would through IE. Otherwise, if you're looking for a site blocker, use NetNanny or Bess. ZoneAlarm is an excellent firewall, and AVG Free is a great antivirus as well.
