Okay, I want to dedicate a topic to my website. I'm hoping that with this topic I can get some suggestions on what we should add in our next update, complaints on what we should remove and just generally feedback to see how we can improve our clan website. A few things we've recently added are...

I know the GoogleAds don't make the site look as good as it should but to be honest it's worth the sacrifice guys. I've had GoogleAds up for 3 days and everyday I've made over $10. The money from the Ads will go towards buying Prizes for our upcoming GR:AW tournaments and also to pay for a better hosting plan. So I know Google says I can't ask people to click on those ads, do me a favor and get as many people to click them as you can so I can become as rich as hell. Ten bucks a day for doing nothing? How gangster is that.

So, feel free to browse for the things I've listed up there, see what you think of them. Tell me how I can improve them or if I should remove them. Plus I'd apreciate it if you do the same for things that aren't listed there. I'll be taking your opinions into serious consideration and if I think you've got a point I'll make sure I get it done. So, let's get started, comments please.

Wow, everyone's become so tight-assed around here, eh? Can't even leave a comment? Anyway, just wanted to say we've made $157 in 7 days with GoogleAds so far. Fingers crossed we hit $250 by the end of this month, if any of you have Xbox Live you'll be pleased to know the money will go toward buying various 360 games to be given as prizes for winners of our upcoming public G.R.A.W tournament. So if your friend has LIVE and wants to win a couple of free games, let'em know. ^_^

Finally some feedback, and it's even positive. Yeah the song of the week thing was an idea we came up with in order to sort of 'force' people into trying out different kinds of music, because you never know if you'll like a song or not until you've listened to it. We have many rockers, rappers and emo kids in the clan so every week we get some funky music submitted. By the way Diddy if you'd like to submit a song to appear in our future SOTW slots then just email the song to Nemphtis at Gmail.com and I'll put it up.

I'm pretty happy with the design at the moment, but we're looking to hire some good skinners to create us two kickass forum skins, plus in the future we'll improveon our current site design hopefully but first we're focussing on our tournaments and clan practice. We got our asses kicked on Halo2 the other night and so everyone is sort of low on morale. Anyone know the easiest way to add a public poll to my homepage?

How difficult is it and is it just done with simple HTML or are we talking about PHP or any other crap? My friend who deals with the coding of the site only knows HTML & PHP so I dunno if he can do it or not.

It involves HTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL (or another Database and Server-Side-Scripting Language).
Just create a form, sanitize user input, insert into DB, calculate percentages, output percentages/graphs, etc.

It shouldn't take longer than 45 minutes from start to finish.



EDIT: And by 'knows PHP", does he actually know the language/how to program or does he just know how to include()/require() things and simple echo'ing and such?

Not sure exactly, I think he hasn't totally learned PHP but when he gets stuck he usually figures out any problems soon after so I don't know how to answer that without asking him.

Sadly I'm not, one of the biatches in my clan is though. It's great when your clan members are not only active/useful but they can kick ass on LIVE as well, muahahaha. Anyway, as you can see the GoogleAds were removed, this is because Google got suspicious when we made $200 in two weeks, and so we are now banned forever. Ah well, hah. ^_^

Yahoo Adverts? Hmm, I hope they're less hassle. Read my my latest news post about the GoogleAds suspension on the website, I'm happy they banned us because their verification methods were very annoying and by the time you completed them all it would take at least 3-4 weeks of your time.
