I used to play a bit of the recorder but I guess everyone did at one point or another, my stupid elementary school made it mandatory...
What instrument do you guys play?

I'd definitely like to learn to play both guitar and piano someday.

Sadly, I don't have enough time for either piano or flute now. I think I'd be much more passionate about it if it were a string instrument like I mentioned before (not guitar though).

Oh yeah, and I play the piano, but only a few songs. Most of them I learned by playing them by ear.
AND, I'm thinking of trying the guitar or bass. I'm self taught at all my insturments mostly, although I had a few basic lessons on the drums.

In high school, though, I played euphonium (think tuba, just smaller) and a three-valve trombone. I also learned to play trumpet and a bit of piano.
My music teacher also said I was probably the best sightreader (playing a piece full-on without looking over the score first) in our band, too. Back in the days I played both concert and jazz band.

Any 'tard can learn to play the drums, simple beats, a few popular songs etc. but to be able to play well, learn complex paradiddles, theory, technicalities, knowledge of brands, kits, good drummers etc. takes time, practice, and research. One thing that pisses me off at my school is all the wannabe drummers (and other musicians) who have had a few lessons, can play well known songs, and jam at recess playing the same old ****. I'm just like "do something interesting", and then they claim to be good at what they do.
It's easy to learn the drums. I picked up the simle 4/4 rock beat in half an hour, but to be able to play well is an entirely different matter.
It's good I got that off my chest :|

Agatio, it took you that long? C'mon man.. it's easy. Playing complex stuff well isn't hard either.

Today we had to play the theme from Star Trek in front of the school. I was in charge of the bass drum. Oh goody.
