[Golden Legacy]

Title says it all. With E3 2006 less than three weeks away, the hype and excitement has been mounting considerably high. What are you most looking forward to yourself?

For me, it'll be all about the Nintendo Revolution. The potential of the new controller, the new games (Golden Sun 3, anyone? Come on Camelot!), and the elusive "final secret" that Nintendo has yet to reveal.

I'd also like to see how much farther Nintendo can push the success of the DS. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, etc.

I also am looking forward to seeing the Nintendo Revolution for the first time, which will definitely be the highlight of the show. I would also like to see some PS3 stuff that's not pre-rendered. I want to see in-game demos and stuff like that. I'm excited about this year!

Anything Nintendo has to offer Revolution-wise and anything Twilight Princess I'd like to hear about. I'm not too interested in what Camelot has to offer, I think I've laid GS to rest for a bit. If it's worth it, which I still think there's a chance for it to be, regardless whether it is a GS or not, I'd check for that, too. It just won't be my focal point.

I'd really like to hear about a WarioWare game for the Revolution.. That'd be VERY cool, especially with the sensor deally on the controller.

I don't know how Twilight Princess will fit into Nintendo's plans now, but it's probably going to come out only weeks before the Revo comes out, which will be weird. Hopefully it will grab attention for being a great game.

[Golden Legacy]

Twilight Princess is confirmed to have additional functionality when it is played on the Revolution. However, it will remain on a GameCube disc, meaning it will be targeted as both the final noteworthy GameCube title, as well as a Revolution launch title, a powerful move by Nintendo, in my opinion.

I have my doubts. However, if it was anything other than Zelda, this game would flop. People have been waiting for this game forever, though, and it well sell like crazy.

Of course I'm hoping for another addition to the Camelot RPG circle, maybe a GS3, but I'm also hoping maybe Bungie will say something about whether or not there will be a Halo game for the 360 in the near future.

Nintendo reveals a good amount more on the revolution, with some games detailed, real time footage, etc (Metroid Prime 3 please :o).

Blizzard reveal the new alliance race for WoW (if it's Draeni... omg death).

Today, Sony will showcase the Playstation 3, and that is the most important part of E3, like it or not...

Why is the PS3 the deciding factor?
Everyone knows, only the failure of the PS3 will bring about the success of the 360 or Wii, it doesn't work the other way around, whether the 360 and Wii is successful or not, the PS3 will sell, only the PS3 can destroy itself. Think of it, it's true!

Speculations of what's to come:
Information on Playstation 3 online service.
Price point.
Revealing of the new controller.
Launch titles.
More launch information.
Demos of games.
Revealing of more games.

Now, let's hope today wouldn't be a let down, today determines alot, today alot of people will decide whether they wait for a PS3 or go buy a 360 or wait for the Wii. I hope Sony wouldn't dissapoint.

Hearing about a new WarioWare game got me excitied until I found out it would be on the Wii, rather than DS. I'm also interested about the next gen Sonic game. It looks pretty interesting.

The Electronic Entertainment Expo starts tommorow, not today(if someone thought it is today). And yes, I had to use the whole name. I am quite hyped about E3 mostly because of new DS games they might announce.

Also, Eugine, I don't agree with some things you say. I don't think the PS3 will be the most important part of this years E3 because it's not revolutionary like Wii. PS3 is, like XBox 360, just an upgrade of their previous console, while the Wii is a new experience.

PS3 online service will most probably be a ripoff of XBox Live and the controller will, I am 100% sure, be a Wiimote rip-off. Yeah, I know all about Nintendo patenting their new controller, but all Sony has to do is make the controller look a little different. In other words, it's not gonna be a remote, it'll be a gun, but it will still have motion sensing like the Wiimote. I mean, think about it, the moment Ninty showed their controller Sony decided to throw their boomerang idea away(I actually think the boomerang was excelent). That's Capitalism for you!

Also, about the price point... It'll be high. There is nothing Sony can do about it. It'll have to be high. Some experts actually say it'll be $900(!), but I don't think Sony is so stupid as to do that to themselves. It MAY be around 700, which is still a lot...

Hell, there's alot of die-hard PS Phanboiz.. I think the PS3 is going to sell. It might not get as much hype as the 360, but it'll still do quite well. The Wii will be the focus of the show, in my opinion. Maily, as Aqua said, because it's revolutionary. I think this year Nintendo is gonna steal the show..
And yes, I would like to see some promising looking RPG's for the DS. Lost magic is fantastic for the moment, though..

And personally, I agree with Aqua as well. I really wouldn't be surprised to se the Rev take the show. There will definately be a large croud around that system, but there will definately be crouds around the others as well.

Well, the PS3 controller has been revealed! It is, as I expected, a Wiimote ripoff. I thought it was going to be a gun, but they were even less original and just took the old PS and PS2 design and added motion sensing. Here is a link:

I think they'll keep the PS3 price low so they won't make any profit on the console it self but more on the games. That's what microsoft did and it turned out to be quite a smart move (for them.)

edit: screw sony, I liked the way the 1st controller looked. And it's really sad that they now nicked nintendo's idea. I'm thinking of getting a Wii now... since the playstation really is a mix between Xbox 360 and Wii.

I'm starting to like the name Wii, nice and short. Just what Nintendo was hoping.
