Has anyone seen the very old episodes of Dr Who? Most of them are bad, but some of the Tom Baker episodes are good.

Anyway, oddly, the 8th doctor is only in dr who: the movie. Odd. And it doesn't tell you how he regenerates. =(

If you've got sky then watch UKTV Gold at the weekend, in the morning. They sometimes show them.
I've never seen the whole of the movie, but the beginning didn't look too good.

First of all- Thank you for making this topic

I am NOT a hard core doctor who fan, I kinda jumped the band wagon with the ninth doctor ( the marvellous christopher eccleston) but I did watch random old episodes too.

Plus the darleks can scare the shyt out of anyone

I'm sure many other people joined in when they brought it back. Christopher Eccleston was good, so it's a shame he decided to leave. David Tennant is pretty good though. Neither of them are as good as Tom Baker was though.

Tom baker was a legend. Say dr who to any english guy and they will likely say tom baker.

What I want to know is who is gonna be the next Dr? I think Tennant is doing another series, but i'm not too sure.

I hope Tennant sticks around. I was really disappointed when Eccleston left, and I'd hate to have a repeat performance. I think tennant is sticking for another series though so it's all good :)

I wonder about Billie Piper. I actually was surprised at how good she turned out to be. I mean I was SO sure she was going to be the ruin for the show but I was badly mistaken. I hope she sticks around a while too.

And yes Tom baker is legend, I haven't even seen the series but I know that his name is associated with the Doctor.

Anyone seen the movie? that was pretty good too, eventhough it was that which started my fear of the daleks :D

I agree with you. Better than David Tennant in my opinion, though he is still quite good.

Yes, it is really really good so far. Anybody read any of the books? I'm currently reading the ressurection casket. It is a brilliant book, and it portrays the dr and rose perfectly.

I dunno about that, my dad used to watch the the old series and he said after today's episode that Tennant is giving Baker a good run for his money :/

Anyway I have a question, according to what Eccleston said, he is THE last time lord left after the time war but I know that there were other characters like the Master. So does that include the other timelord characters?

I think characters like the Master were killed off anyway. I think the Doctor is the last one left.
Personally I'd like an epsiode where they bring the Master back.

This weeks was an absolute gem. The ood a great: " The beast shall rise from the pit and make war against god" Just got me into hysterics, in their english accent. I wanna see Satan though! The should have showed the Satan pit on the 6/6/6. That would have ruled!

It was certainly darker than usual. I almost missed as I was coming back from Cornwall. I got in 3 minutes before it started.
Just so you know they've released the first two DVD's for series 2.
