Easy Way Of Getting Excalibur/darksword

I've been playing through The Lost Age one more time and this time I'm aiming to get the best equipment possible and I've managed to figure out a good way of getting the Excalibur and the Darksword. When you have given the Blacksmith an Orihalcon or Dark Matter, WALK (without pressing down the B button) out of Yallam and then WALK back to his house. You should now get the Excalibur or Darksword. I think the item you get depends on how long time it takes before you return to his house.

I will test this, but I very much doubt the validity of this method. There may be an RNG safeguard to prevent people from running in and out to save time so it may even the odds, but I don't think that this will guarantee a Darksword or Excalibur. Those are the two rarest items of their respective raw materials you know.

Well you're probably right. But I tried it twice and I got the swords both times.

After a thorough battery of tests, I've determined that this was indeed a coincidence. Wether I walk to the North, or South entrance, the probability of getting Darksword/Excalibur remains 5%. I ran the same test with hard reset, soft reset, and consecutive forging and all results were unchanged. This is most likely because what your item will be is decided as soon as you hand Sunny your forgable item. You just got lucky.

Where on earth did you find the time to do all of that?

According to my calculations, you'd have to perform over 4 billion tests to come up with that.

... 20 trials per round, times 2 metals, times 2 directions, times 3 restart modes equals 240 trials. The effort was not that garganutuan.

I hate these sort of equations. I always screw them up somehow.

I tried it too, it doesn't work. You got extremely lucky there, Gaia. Congrats for that.

Yeah, I reckon that was just luck.
Like with me. For some reason I couldn't move for Darkswords last time I played. I got loads of 'em.

Excalibur, however, took about 50 tries. x3

With the Orihalcon, there's a lot more chance it will be something other than the Excalibur, because there are so many possible weapons. Still, it's mostly based on luck.
