We all know the drill we all get them. Know it's my turn to seek help. I tried to download a crack for a game and i ended up with ****LOAD of Spyware etc.
Anyway, messages saying my computer is in control of someone else keep popping up. Among other things, pop up ads for anti-virus programs keep coming up as well as ones for adult sites. Please help.

ROFL
That should teach you to buy games instead of cracking them. Just kidding, but if your internet isn't messed up I suggest you download spy doctor and ad-aware as starters for getting rid of the spyware.
Ad-Aware
Spy Doctor
Those worked wonders when i got rid of the 4000 viruses, trojans, and spyware on my cousins computer. :agitated:

I didn't exaclty download it, my mate gave it to me but yea.
Nope Ad-aware doesn't seem to do the trick.
these things seem to be reacurring and are constantly popping up, as well as 'error' messages claiming i need to vist and download a particular program.
I'll try adaware and microsoft anitspyware.

I had pretty much the same case with certain spyware on my old computer. The same type of spyware would keep trying to install some stuff on my computer, so I used Zone Alarm, although the program is annoying, its still powerful.

Hey, I'm at school right now but one of the guys here syas just to do a system restore or something. I can't get a straight answer out of the guy so what exactly will I lose? He says only installed files from the last few days will be deleted and none of my files, ie, music, .doc, .xls, MYOB work (parents) etc etc
Is he right?

Oh yes, I forgot about that. He's right, you only lose files from the day you got the virus. You get to keep everything else. To do this go under, Start menu > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
I've done it berfore, and theres no harm done in trying it.

I'm sure losing a few files is much better in comparison to a computer full of malware.

The best way to stop spyware in its tracks is to stop it ever reaching your computer. A program like ZoneAlarm can help you with that.

Well the system restore doesn't work. Like 9/9 days won't work, neither will running it through safe mode work.
I have some 'surfsidekick'. I can't delete it, it says it's in use, believe me i've tried. And i've tried several online site help, like deleteing it from the registry, that doesn't work either.
PLEASE someone help, my parents get back soon!

Oh wow, this is gonna be kinda hard. Well I looked up that "surfsidekick" on google and found out its an adware.
surfsidekick removal guide
That may help "ease" your situation a little. It gives you trial anti-spyware programs that can get rid of the surfsidekick.
And if that doesn't help try this.
