New Forums Added!

You can thank GoldenLegacy for suggesting this to Max and I. I feel this will help encourage posts and create more concentration in each specific forum.
With these new forums, new rules are also spawned:
1. While the title "Other Games" implies you can discuss all games, you need to select the correct category and subforum. The Console and Handheld Gaming forum is for things like the PS2, GameCube, Xbox (360), DS, PSP, etc. Things like Counter-Strike: Source for the PC, WoW, and games for Unix variants (includin Linux, Solaris, BSD, etc) go into the Computer Gaming forum.
If you wish to discuss general gaming, like "Which is better, Counter-Strike for the PC or Xbox", you can put that in the general forum.
Keep in mind, for the first little while, a lot of posts are going to be moved at Moderator Discretion - meaning you may not agree with the move. If this is the case, PM the Moderator Team and tell them why you feel differently. If you do not do this, your topic will not be moved and you will not be heard from when you want to make an appeal.
2. The Current Affairs forum is for world news (War in Iraq, Lebanon/Isreal War, etc), politic news (Elections, etc), and just news in general (Did you know (link to news story and discussion)).
With these new rules, I think we can spark some activity in those forums.
Thank you.
NOTE: For the next couple of days, moderators will be moving topics to their respective (new) forums. Please check all new forums for your topic before making a topic in the help forum or PM'ing the staff.

Bad News: We split the Other Games forum and create subforums at GSSF.
Personally, I have always found subforums just to be a hassle, and I question the "need" to make this move, but I won't complain too much because I got what I wanted in the end.

I also agree with SoT when it comes to sub forums in the "Other Games" forum. Since this place isn't really that active I think it would be more convenient to just have four sub forums. One for Microsoft, one for Sony, one for Nintendo, one PC games. The PSP can tie in with the Sony board and the DS can tie in with the Nintendo board.

Having so many sub-forums makes me worry that some places will become seriously inactive and inevitably useless since mostly everyone here talks about Nintendo and will be posting in the Nintendo forum.

:) Yeah, really, I don't understand what you're trying to say Echo djinn.
Anyway, I think it's ok like this, and if it were to be changed even more it might all just become too complicated.

The current affairs section is nice but overall I think it does over complicate things.

The same with the Current Affairs board. It encourages people to post about current events happening all over the world.

Being quite the PC gamer myself, the fact that computer game disucssion was ignored... it always annoyed me.

This change was only made because you and two other members decided that you absolutely needed to talk about computer games. If the topics were dying, wasn't that a hint that people here weren't interested in talking about them?

Other games has subforums for Console and Computer gaming, but what about handhelds?

At least 40% of our active users go for computer games as well as console games. Think about other members.
Even if you don't like the change now, you'll get used to it and probably like it later. It's not like we're doing something directly bad or harmful to the forums.

Not that I really use it a whole lot, it's still a change for the better I think.
If you don't like it, piss off. No one is making you stay.

My bad, when I read this I thought the forum was going to be seperated into 6 sub forums for each system I put in bold. Now that I looked into the board I can see my error. My bad.

The Mods and Admins tried something new, and it may not have turned out as well as they expected, but at least they'll know what to do and what not to do the next time they change something like this.
