I've switched over to FireFox from IE for sometime now, and yet according to a friend of mine, it's possible to improve/modify the basic browser.

How can I do this? Extensions, plug-ins, etc. or whatever it may be. And also, are there any specific ones you recommend, or perhaps even a whole set/group of them that will really make the best of FireFox?

    Greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I just downloaded Firefox, so this would be appreciated as well.

When you go into bookmarks there should be a folder called Firefox and Mozilla links. Go in there and you'll find all you need.

Personally, I would reccomend Forecast Fox (Gives you weather for the next few days at the bottom of your screen), Internote (Lets you post sticky notes on web pages), Answers ( ALT+click on a word and it takes you to the Answers.com page for it), and I hear Greasemonkey (Lets you add code or something to a webpage to rearrange it as you like. I think. Not too sure on this one.) is pretty good too.

I just downloaded a ton of skins and plugins! Firefox is WAY better than IE! Though I wish I could have my bookmarks on the side like you can with IE. IE was also easier to get used to, but now that I'm used to Firefox, it's awesome!
Here GL, you should find everything you need, as far as plugins and skins go. Foxytunes is pretty cool. :P
            https://addons.mozil...ication=firefox
You have to restart your browser for them to take effect though.

Get the FasterFox extension to 'optimise' Firefox a bit. And yes, get extensions!

Yeah, I downloaded that. and all of these: http://img150.images...tensionsdf6.jpg
The only thing I don't like, is that you can't right click to copy and paste things. You have to do this weird ctrl+v thing.

I would also recommend ForecastFox, as well as:
                  • GMail Notifier (if you use GMail)
                  • AdBlock + AdBlock Filterset.G Updater
                  • Open Download (let's you open .exe files in the download window instead of only being allowed to save)
                  • Tabbrowser Preferences (better control of tab behavior)
                  • Linkification (double click URLs in text to open them (if they are not links)

I also found an FTP related extension. Is that any good?

I forget what FTP even stands for ;)

But I also should mention StumbleUpon. It takes you to a random website based on a catagories you have shown interest in. It's really great for when you're bored.

I actually have that extension. It downloads videos taken off of YouTube, etc. in FLV format.
