I finally got around to downloading it, but alas, I have no clue how to use it. Sad, I know. ;) I just need to know how to make a mySQL database, and how to use the Firezilla FTP.

      1. What don't you know how to use? A web-server? The XAMPP panel itself? MySQL?
      2. AFAIK, XAMPP comes with phpMyAdmin. Use that for a GUI environment to MySQL.
      3. Is this server available to the net?

I don't know how to use Firezilla (the FTP program), and the mySQLadmin panel. I know I need to upload the files onto it, and you do that with Firezilla, but I don't know how to do it. I also cannot find phpMyAdmin. There are a bunch of PHP files, but I presume they are used for the offline home page of XAMPP that comes with it.
And I'm using this on my computer.

Mr.T, you sound extremely confused about what you are doing. What exactly did you download XAMPP for? To test a PHP website on your computer? If so, you don't need to use FTP, you simply put the files in the "htdocs" folder in the XAMPP installation directory.

FTP is used to upload files to REMOTE servers.

A google search revealed many phpMyAdmin tutorials, of which this was the first one: http://www.reg.ca/fa...inTutorial.html.

If you need any help, please feel free to hit me up on MSN ([email protected]) or AIM (Goaliexam).

Well that makes things much clearer. i now have a new problem. I can't log into phpMyAdmin because I've forgotten my password. Is there anyway I can reset it?
