Long time no see GS members but enough of that. I have a problem. For this upcoming holiday season I've been working my ass off trying to save money, I made a budget on hom much I am going to spend and I am looking to spend about $500-$1000 Canadian on either: PS3, New MP3 player, Nintendo Wii, some NBA gear(for my school's team), and that's about it. Right now it looks like I can get everything I need but here is the problem. I can't get both the PS3 and the Nintendo Wii but I kind of want them both, what should I get first? They're both looking sweet but which one is sweeter? Help a brother out here.

I'm not sure if your situation can call for it later on, but buy the Wii first so that you can have some money leftover from what would have been used to buy the PS3. Once you have enough, go for the PS3.

I would go the Wii. Get the fun console and play around with it for a bit, and when you have the money for the PS3 the price should off dropped. Plus the Wii has a new Zelda...

Anyway, I'm not really sure if you're asking the right people. Most of us will say Wii since we are mostly Nintendo fans. But the thing is, I've tried to look realisticaly at what is better and the answer kept slapping me over the face. Wii.
But really... How realistic can I be, being a huge Ninty fan?

Depends what you like. The Wii is probably the most suprising and probably the most kiddy too. I would't expect as much games on the Wii as on the PS3. So if you want variety, go for PS3. If you want something new and fresh, go for Wii.

I would say Wii first, because it will probably take a little while for the full potential of the PS3 to be used in games.

I would get the Wii first. The only promising title for the PS3 at launch is Resistance: Fall of Man. Once game companies realize the potential the PS3's capabilities and start making better games, you should get it then.

Thanks for the replies. I thought it over and I decided to wait a bit more before I get any of the next-gen consoles. Nothing really grabs me of yet so I'll just wait it out until something does. Echo_djinn is out.

If you wanna get both consoles anyways, I'd pick the Wii first. Mainly because it's way cheaper than the PS3. But a new MP3-player has more priority imo, since the better games will come out later. Except for Twilight Princess ofcoarse. :mellow:
