I'd have to go with Halo, it's epic, memorable, and it actually sounds like it's orchestrated. Zelda and Mario came close, but... maybe I've just heard them too much. But Nintendo needs to orchestrate their music. SSBB isn't going to be enough.

Halo, Zelda or Oblivion....this could take a while to choose. The music in the Halo's was more epic, but Oblvion had great music too. And with the "weakness" music in Twilight Princess, I can't choose. You know. Like the first boss. You get it's head down on the ground and you swing at it? That music.

I'm playing Oblivion at this second so doy.

Speaking of that, When you double click on the Oblivion icon, and you hear those first few notes... they sound ALOT like the first few notes of Golden Sun's theme. ;) Typical fantasy music I suppose.

Personally, I like Oblivion's music, particularily the music in the wilderness, but it needs more variety. The music in towns and caves is all the SAME, darn it!

I love Fire Emblem music. They're excellent. Damn, I remember continually listening to the music over and over.
Together we ride, requiem, the battle theme. All excellent.

I can't recall the music for Halo now since I never had some time with it, but the others are very close together. Golden Sun and Final Fantasy also have superb music. Welcome to Zanarkand (I think that's the name) was soothing, and FFX-2 Real Emotion and 1000 words damn.

... but, the game that's not on your list with the best imo, is Kingdom Hearts.
Simple and Clean and Sanctuary/Passions by Utada Hikaru and possibly the best I've ever heard, still play them to this day... but other than that Kingdom Hearts is similar to FF.

I would say Halo because I have for it Pc. I also have Golden S un 1 and 2 for gameboy. That is all I know of all these songs because I never heard them. Just Halo and Golden Sun.

I'm not so sure. I guess out of this list that it would be Zelda, but overal it must be F-Zero. I dunno, I guess I'll vote for Zelda, though that doesn't really have amazing music.

Halo, it's got great tunes. The tune you get when hunters appear gives you an adrenaline kick. And that's not something you get from your average ingame song.

From all of these, I'd pick Fire Emblem. The music really fits most of the envoirment and events in the game, and the theme music is just fantastic! There's a FE theme I really love, it's one of FE8... I've only forgot the name... ^^

Mario's theme song is one we all know, but I don't think it's anything special. For the best game music overall, I'd still vote a personal favorite: Donkey Kong Country.

For me, the music in FE was just average, not something I could listen to forever. I only hve Sacred Stones, I dunno if that has anything to do with it.

Its a toss-up between Halo and Golden Sun. I really love Golden Sun music, all of it. Halo is good too, but I like GS more.

Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy; but I'm leaning more to Final Fantasy. Nobuo Uematsu is genius. My most favourite theme of all's got to be One-Winged Angel.

On Fire Emblem's side, FE7's theme songs in particular were very classic, with the legendary Fire Emblem Theme and continuing the trend for the eight-note Class Change chime.

Thinking about it, I have a special song from each game. One I wouldn't classify 'better' or 'worse' than another. They're just special.

My favorite video game music comes from Golden Sun and Final Fantasy. I just decided to choose Golden Sun because I actually enjoyed the gameplay more than most of the FF games I've played. Nonetheless, Motoi Sakuraba and Nobuo Uematsu are just the most amazing music composers Ever. n.n

I have to give a nod as well to the riff from Metroid Prime. The music was very downplayed in the game, but I really liked it.

I absolutely love Zelda music - my favorite is the opening theme of Ocarina of Time. I also like the Twilight Princess one. But I don't really know the themes of the other games listed.

Imo FF7 battle theme pwns everything, maybe except the music in TLA ending sequence. If I had to choose one of the options above I'd pick GS.

Another one I haven't mentioned yet is the Legend of Zelda. The overworld theme is amazing and even the dungeon theme is unforgettable. It's truly a classic.
