Almost two months later than originally scheduled, the GSS hosting account was moved to a new, faster server. Page loads are noticeably faster already, which is a good sign. However, all is not perfect.

Ever since I was originally told that our server would be moved, I have been trying to extract a final date from my web host's support staff so I could turn off the forums during the move. As early as this morning I was talking to a support representative, who could not give me a date or time.

As a result, the account was moved with the forums left online, which means that posts made between when the account was copied to the new server and when the server went online have been lost. I am deeply sorry for this, and I tried my best to prevent it from happening. It should never happen again though, or at least not anytime soon.

I had originally intended to upgrade to the newest version of the forum software, but my license expired and they have almost doubled the price. So I am currently evaluating the situation, and an upgrade may have to wait until the new site launch (sometime in the next two months). I believe spam accounts have been somewhat reduced, though if they continue to be a problem I will implement further measures to prevent it.

So please enjoy the speedy new server, and I'm sorry for any inconvenience the move may have caused.

I didn't notice until now, but pages do appear to be loading faster. Good job, keep up the good work, and such.

They are faster. It's really noticible on my PC since it loads pages pretty slowly. It's alright about the post thing though. I don't mind at least.

I was checking the price of IPB myself and yes, the prices are insane now, and wasn't the support for a year before? And compared to Vbulletin now, isn't it a bit outragous? VB has been known to have a better forum software than IPB so why make it so expensive?
