We were having a "review" class in math yesterday in preparation for a test. I use quotes on the review because all we ever do in "review" classes is sit around and talk. Me and a couple friends spent about an hour talking about old video games. It was fun looking back and talking about the fun we had with games on the NES, SNES, and N64, along with Game Boy games, Playstation, and the trading card games that took over our schools.
So with that in mind, I ask you guys to look back and recall your favorite moments with video games. I'm not looking for stuff that happened in the last five years, but stuff that you played in the 90's and games you remember playing and enjoying.

Personally, I don't have all that many memories of video games since my first system was a GBA and I got it in 2001. But I do remember lots of fads from school and arcade games that were always fun.

Next up is Super Mario 64, which was the game that really got me into gaming. So yeah, I owe a lot to the red capped plumber...
There are many games that I could think of that are worth a say here, but I'll just mention Majora's Mask, Smash Bros. Melee and Pokemon Ruby, my three favorite games ever. They screamed "JOY!" in my face during every second of playing, and so I only have nice memories of them.

I'd rank playing FF7 for the first time as a good gaming memory as well. It was just a different experience for me at the time (as well as for a lot of other people). I guess there was the time when we got a PS2, even if we could only play X-Men 2: Wolverine's Revenge at first.

I also have good memories of the N64. I never really liked Super Mario 64. I thought it was better in 2D, same for DK64 however I DID liked that game. Banjo-Kazooie and Ocarina of Time however both beat it.

I honestly never played Banjo-Tooie. And I'm ashamed of it... I heard it had a talking penis somewhere in the game. God I miss Rare. It's a shame we won't see Banjo Kazooie on the Virtual Console, since Rare's now owned by Microsoft... Maybe a good reason for me to buy a XBox360 later on.

I came home from school one day and saw my brother and dad sitting on the couch paying Mario Kart 64, possibly the greatest racing game EVER made.
But one of my greatest memories was Snowboard kids on the 64.. That was seriously the greatest game ever. It rocked so hard. No joke. Greatest game in existence.

DK64... was okay when I played it over five years ago. But now I see that it is a total rip-off Mario 64 and just a (tedious)collect-a-thon(sp?).
A talking penis? What a lie. That could have happened in Conker, but they wouldn't put that in kiddy Banjo-Tooie.
Oh yes, Conker's Bad Fur Day. Amazing game. One of the funniest I've ever played, and awesome multiplayer. It's a shame Rare started going down-hill later, with all the bad games they've been making. Hey, Diddy, as much as you like Rare you must see that their newer games aren't as good as their old! Though I would really like to play Viva Pinata...

I however don't think Mario64 and DK64 are the same. Yes they are similair, but there are still alot of diffrences. Look at the boss fights in DK64 for example. I think they're done alot better than in Mario 64. The final battle vs K.Rool was very suprising and unqiue, while the last battle vs Bowser in Mario 64 you already knew what was comming...
I've heard the talking penis was hidden somewhere in Banjo Tooie. And even though Banjo is kiddier then Conker, it's a Rare franchise afterall.

Diddy Kong Racing DS sounds good, but not great. It's a remake after all. If it were a new DKR, I would be thrilled at the prospect.
Why are Banjo and Kazooie so ugly now? Why did they change them so much?
I agree that the bosses in DK64 were great. But that's not reason enough to say it is different to Mario 64. Yes, DK64 has a few differences, but most of those differences have already been used in Banjo-Kazooie. Another good thing about DK64 is the inclusion of the original Donkey Kong game. Awesome...

I was probably the least into it when I was younger. I was probably the only kid withought cards, but I had a holographic dragonite. Lost it though.
But the best way to catch those guys was to use scary face or something. Kept them from running, unless they used roar.
But that game was probably even more popular than Yugioh was a few years ago. It still has an incredible fanbase, and is probably Ninty's best selling franchise.
To get back on topic, a friend of mine was remembering tekken a week ago, and he was like "Remember tekken? That game was so bad!" And he'd jump like they did, and do the movements of one of them or something. It was pretty funny watching him and another friend fight like that. XD
My favorite old school game, though, is probably Diddy Kong Racing. I had so much fun with that game.

I remember when me and my best friend rented a PS2 and Soul Calibur 3, I wanted to play it so much, but I couldn't since it wasn't released for GC. Then we played it for hours on end, and I loved it. I wouldn't have bought it though, since it wasn't different enough to SC2. Zasalamel is awesome though...

Like I said, I didn't want to risk wasteing 5 dollars. All I had at the time was my friends' older brother's opinion. Back then, 5 bucks was a lot to me since I was nearly broke.

Soul Calibur 2 is a game you can't exactly beat, since it doesn't have a single player adventure mode. Well, I guess Weapon Master could count, but that's not the main part of the game. Did you call any friends round? If not, then you missed out on the best part of the game: kicking your pals arses from here to the Moon.
And you should have upped the difficulty of the CPU's. That would have made the game quite funner.

About old school gameing, my favorite has to be Centipede. It used to be the only game we had on our PC when we had a Gateway (we had the massive space of a 1GB hard drive!). I would play that for minutes on end. And then I got an N64, that's when I became obsessed with games. DKR was my favorite game for that system.......

I love Pac-Man. I really do. It's still one of the funnest games there is. I haven't played it in years, but I would so like to.
Tetris is an old classic too, but I hate it... I do have a great deal of respect for the game though, since it was so revolutionary, but I just can't play it.

I can't believe you can't play Tetris, Aqua. It's easy as pie! Well no, if you consider how hard it is to make pie, but still, what's hard about putting blocks together and clearing lines? It only gets hard around level 9, for goodness sake.

My first game ever was Tetris for GBC. I got completely obsessed. With only 3 s's. After that, it was Pokemon Red. Then Link's Awakening. Then Pokemon Gold. I'm sure I said this before,, but gold is the best Pokemon ever. Also, I had a bunch of the cards, but had no one to play with and no money to buy them with, so I lost interest.

1) I'm always right. I know EVERYTHING.
2) Level 9? That's easy. It's level 15 that's hard. I can only beat level 15 if I start out at it. I've gotten to level 15 before, but I've never been able to beat it if I start at level 1. And by the way, if any of you remember that topic someone posted about tetris, you know, the thing where the pieces were there for a split second, then they were at the bottome of the screen?
