I made this topic because I had a snow day today no school. 5 inches of snow everywhere. Most we have had in over 50 years. I love it. I've already visited the park, slaughtered my brother and his friends and its only 8:30. I plan to go sledding later and I have to take the dog on a walk. Its awesome.

So when did you last have a snow day and what did you do?

You too huh? I was on the way to school when someone stopped me and told me it was shut. As for what I'll do... I don't know. I'm still waiting to see if my dad can actually get to work. The trains are pretty random today.

I had the biggest snow ball fight ever.

There were like 4 or 5 teams, each with at least 30 people on them. I was on the team with the strongest thrower in our school so we like killed them. Oh it was awesome

Wow, 30 people on each team? Was that your whole school there?

We've barely had any snow this year, and even if we did have 5 inches of snow school wouldn't be canceled. That's just how lucky I am.
I'm glad for you two though. Make the most of it.

I should get a snow day soon, but:

a), my school's retarded. They didn't even give us a delay for like an inch and a half of snow, and none of the roads were plowed, so some people were coming in at like 9:00.

:( The weather freaking hate me. It snows just a liiiiiitttle everyday. And when heavy snowfall is forecasted, it goes up to like 40 degrees. Rain sucks.

It snowed here too, and still is. Though I doubt they'll give us a free day during exams.

No snow in Manchester. Even though we were forecast to get 6 inches.

I'm at college now, but at my old school, they closed it once just because it was icy, and they hadn't gritted it. Of course the ice had melted by about 10am, but we still didn't have to come in.

I want to know why the radio stations wait until the moment I'm out of the door before saying that my school is shut. It happened to em last time and it happened today. I had to rely on a very nice old lady to tell me that I didn't need to go in. The fact that I hadn't seen anyone else from my school suggested it though.

                    6:42AM: Link awakens.

6:43AM: Link notices foot high layer of snow covering the ground below outside of his bedroom.

6:59AM: Link has a shower, followed by a bowl of cornflakes.

All set up, ready to go to school. Thought my train might be delayed due to weather conditions, but hey! It's on time. I board the train, bit of a bumpy ride, arrive at my destination. Here is where I see students from my school walking home.. Link takes out his mobile phone, calling for a lift, as there are no more trains for the next hour, but! The stupid piece of modern technology falls dead.

I stop three people and ask if I could borrow their phones, finally, I aquire one. Okay, so It'll be an hour before my lift, I go and wait outside school until then. Fifty-five minutes to go, I get hit by a mutha of a snowball. Huge snowball war with seven other kids. The day starts.

Link gets home, changes, then rushes out doors. Three zombie snowmen are neatly crafted from the snow, one with an exclusive top hat. However, they get crushed by puny children from across the street. Link chases children, bombarding them with snowballs. Link does not realize their father and uncle, before they bombard Link with snowballs! Link is a very unhappy bunny. With the loss of dignity, three perfectly good men, Link returns home to a nice mug of hot chocolate.

It's amazing that you guys get only 5 inches, and you get a snow day. We had a day this winter where we got 8 in one night and still had to go to school the next day. Sure, next to nobody showed up (I did, because I'm within walking distance), but it's farfetched to say the least when most people can't even open their doors.

Snow is so rare though that as soon as a single flake drops, everything grinds to a halt. I'm surprised we got today off as well though.

In Holland they issued a weather alarm for like... an inch or two of snow.

Just to give a picture how rare snow is and how much Holland overrreacts to these kind of things.

I went to the snow once. It's really hard to make snowballs. Or snowmen, for that matter. Did I mention that frozen toes hurt a lot?

Yes Split, we're all aware of this. However, the first snows that fall are ususally bad for making snowballs/snowmen. That's possibly why you couldn't make them.
Where did you see this snow? I'll be surprised if you say Australia...
