Hi, I'm Hinoa, and as you may have guessed, I'm new here. I'm interested in seeing what this forum is like, so I may as well join and introduce myself.
I'm a 19-year-old student (though I'm presently on a leave of absence), and yes, I have played Golden Sun. I enjoyed both games very much. I used to be an administrator at Age of the Adepts, but that site died, so I've gone elsewhere. I'm also a contributor to the Golden Sun wiki.
So, um, hi and everything.

There's an explanation for that. If you join a forum, then the chances areyou have an interest with whatever the forum is associated with. Other people on the forum are also interested with the forum topic, therefor share 1 common interest which might be linked to other interests that you and another forum member might share, therefor stubling across the same forum.
However in real life, if you meet somebody in a building, you arent be going to asking them all their interests and finding a common interest you share, then you arent necissarily going to meet them in another building as you will have forgotten them as the real world has so many more people off the internet than off.

Ugh. You should have seen the state of the FE community about a year ago (or possibly now, I've not really been interested in it for ages).
There was at least 30 different rpg fan forums, each with a stupid name, "Fire Emblem xxxxx", each with exactly the same memberbase, but different members were admins. They all had pretty much exactly the same RPGs, and since everyone used the same characters on each forum, I'd guess all the battles were the same too.
There were 2 good FE forums (Planet and Evolution), and then as I said about 30 mini RPG forums. It was so stupud.
There was at least 30 different rpg fan forums, each with a stupid name, "Fire Emblem xxxxx", each with exactly the same memberbase, but different members were admins. They all had pretty much exactly the same RPGs, and since everyone used the same characters on each forum, I'd guess all the battles were the same too.
There were 2 good FE forums (Planet and Evolution), and then as I said about 30 mini RPG forums. It was so stupud.
