I never quite understood this myself but, why is it that we love to hate him?

His voice? His uselessness? His apperance? The fact that he is probably the easiest character to make into toys? The fact that he is so completely different to everything from the original trilogy?
Probably one of them.

I don't know what everyone's problem is, I kinda like him and I find his antics rather entertaining. I thought it was nice to have a non-human character with some depth and wasn't just and extra or a templated villan. *Gets assassinated repeatedly*

It was for cheap humour though, in an incredibly boring movie. I don't hate him, but I seriously question Lucas's credibility for adding him as a legit character.

The entire 'first' movie was a kids film. Jar Jar was merely thrown into the mix. It was the only movie whose plot I could understand, I don't know why I couldn't quite grasp the others.

I don't really know the opinion of star wars fanboys but I don't think they wrwe impressed by Jar Ja5. I think the moddieness and seriousness of the saga appeals to them.

That was one thing they left out of episode III: the death of Jar Jar. I was seriously disappointed.

Eh, I could understand the plot of the original trilogy but Episodes 2 and 3 were a bit hard to grasp for me. Episode 1 was definetly dumbed down for a younger audience.

Jar Jar was a pointless character. He pretty much came out of nowhere in the first movie (almost literally, he ran into Qui Gon Jinn out of nowhere), and then mysteriously dissapeared in the 3rd movie.

And unless I'm mistaken he actually gave Palpatine the power to wage war on any planet that challenged the Republic. So we can thank Jar Jar for Emperor Palpatine turning and crushing the Republic with evil Anakin. :huh:

Interests:Drums, Guitar Hero, pretending to play guitar, getting awesome at the one song I know how to play on bass, school(yeah, I'm such a loser) music, mohney, etc. I suppose I'll give you an abbreviated list of bands that I like: Relient K Switchfoot Guster Angels and Airwaves Arcade Fire Porcupine Tree Weezer Mae It's sorta a weird mix of mainstream and not so mainstream. I like a lot of single songs too... Bands I need to look at: Plastic Constellations Cauterize Patent Pending And a bunch of local bands that you'll probably never hear of. Pandora rocks. I'm running out of things to say here. Perhaps I like duct tape? Yeah. This likely won't be touched for another year when my tastes have completely changed.

Jar Jar is really useless and his voice gets ridicuously annoying after about 5 minutes. Though, at the end of the 6th film, when all the freed planets are being shown celebrating, you can hear Jar Jar shouting stuff.

Thank god he wasn't in the third one, that sucked enough without him.
