Yes, but only 'cause the grass don't look like it does in the game.

I was using GSW grass for that. I should rip some grass textures from in the actual game, and some river and cliff ones too so I can make better environments. Wouldn't be too hard, just use some existing screens. ;)

While we're on this topic, I'd give much cookies if someone could rip me some walking sprites for all the party members (other than Felix and Isaac, Sheba, and Piers because I already got some for those).

You don't have to rip the sprites from the site, just open up the files, and save the pictures to your computer. As for ripping them from a game, the way I do it is by taking a screen shot while I've got it running on an emulator, and then trimming it in MSPaint.

Ugh, last 5 days of school (not counting this weekend) are gonna filled with a lot of **** and a few projects that we're given only like, 3 days to do. I'm not going to be doing any comic making for the remainder of this weekend or the next week.

After slacking off on Guild Wars and Pokemon Diamond, I'm going to start again. I have some great ideas for some comics. But I need help. Here's a list of what I need so far:

Maps of the Sol Sanctum (the "hidden" chambers with the elemental stars and the top floor with the Sol and Luna room) and Mt. Aleph (at the foot of the mountain)

A map of Vault and the Inn (top floor and bottom floor)

Yeah, I just got it. The new PM'ing system is kinda annoying since it won't inform you of a PM if you have '0 Messages'. But yes, and I'm running the ROM right now (and yes I have the origional).

So exactly which parts of Sol Sanctum do you need?

While I work on the Elemental Stars Room, you can do the outside of Sol Sanctum (the foot of Mt. Aleph) and then, after that, you can do the "Sol" and "Luna" rooms (after solving the puzzle).

The saves. I'm using a gamepad so I don't know what the "spacebar" used to do. In case you mean the speed.

Yeah, the spacebar makes the game run at a billion times the normal speed.

Anyway, here's how you do it: download one of the GameShark saves; those are the ones in the first table. Boot up Visualboy, and open the ROM. Now go to File, click Import, and then Gameshark Snapshot.

Now simply find your game save. Tada!

Elemental Star Room's done. As far as I know, this is the first time it's ever been put onto the internet, and it wasn't the easiest thing to rip for a newbie spriter (EVERYTHING is animated and it's hard to move around the room) so you should all say THANK YOU WD.

I think I can take out the NPCs that are left in with a bit of toying around with textures. I'm good at that. But it's definitely usable.

Hmm if we keep doing this I wonder if we can use these maps in the GSS overhaul.

I have the base of Mt. Aleph done, and Rooms one and two as well. I skipped the fourth, but I have screens of 5 and 6 ready to be put together. Right now I'm at the Sol/Luna puzzle.

If you remember the puzzle from TLA (it's in the dungeon that you need all 14 Djinn from every element to access), the statue-thing mirrors Felix's moves. But since there is three of them the statue is confused (can't mirror three people's movements) and therefore doesn't move. So yeah, they're screwed.

B word was bleeped because I'm an indecisive b**tard. There will be uncensored swearing in the future, don't worry, though it will be rare. I just think swearing in comics (particularly one such as this) isn't needed, and frankly a bit childish.

I didn't expect this one to be awesomely funny at all, simply because this isn't an easy scene to put any punchlines or jokes in. I do like that "we're practically staring at a plot twist!" line though, so I'm satisfied with it, save for the accidental GIF format.

Edit: Oh, and the next comic? Next week probably, though I think I'll take a break today because I expect I'm going to play guitar with some buddies today, maybe.

There isn't particularly anything to make fun of with the dialogue of that part of the game. I suffered a lack of things to work with. But since this comic is going more story based instead of being randomly topical based I guess this will happen more often.

@WD: XD and yes, that'll probably happen more often. But Goldensun isn't exactly one of the funniest games around. Now pokemon's different. There's this one part in D/P where you're infiltrating Galaxie's hideout, and you get to the point where you can take a rest (the "nap/break" room) There's a sign there that says something to the effect of "Tired? Take a rest! Just make sure no one else is in the bed."

Let's not get carried away. I only made two comics so far. I think #2 Heed These Words is a funny one and I like it, though I think that if I thought a little more I could've made it even better. But you guys seemed to have enjoyed it, so I'm still happy.

^^ It shouldn't be that difficult. All need to do is get a screen shot of the tiles you want, then add a 16x16 grid over it, grab marquee tool and select the tile, copy>paste into a tielset and voila!

Sorry for the double post, but WD, if you;re using visual boy, there's a tool that lets you save any sprites that are on the screen as PNG images. That way you don't have to crop it off and erase stuff just to get to the sprite.

Not as much funny again. I just want to get the story rolling. Originally I was going to put that whole sequence into just one comic, but it's easier for me if I release it in parts rather than a whole. It feels like I'm getting somewhere this way.

There should be more funny next comic. Isaac and Garet will be out of Vale in two comics. Then I can mess around with the game's story as much as I want.

I've definitely considered it. I even have the GS text downloaded somewhere on my computer, I just don't know how to turn it into an actual font that I can type with, and I don't know how to use the textboxes or where I could download that. If you tell me how I can do all that, would you like to bear my children?

Sphere. You know that little RPG makeing thingy? I can make the text box for you, and then you can put the pieces together in the map editor, take a picture, open it up in photoshop or something, add text, and paste it to the screen shot.

Making a textbox wouldn't be that hard. Just convert the letters into a font using a program, type it out, then put the textbox behind it and stretch it as necessary. I can do an example if you'd like.

Okay, found a font creating program. Wouldn't stretching textboxes make the borders bigger?

Like this: take a sprite of the left border, then paste a bunch of one-pixel sections of the middle textbox (which includes the top and bottom borders), then paste the right border. It should look completely normal.

Sphere let's you make your own fonts, so al you have to do is paste a picture of the letter onto the corresponding square thingy, and you can use the text in any program like MS Word, or Photoshop.

Then could you do me a favor? Got to Venus Lighthouse, download the GS text, make into a font, send the font file to me (you're on your own here) and I could take it from there.

I stopped making a GSSF comic strip for a few reasons. One thing, it's too much pressure since everybody wants a cameo. Another thing is that it's entirely possible to depict members in ways that would offend that same member for real, if you make them say things that they actually wouldn't. Not that this actually happened, but I just don't want it to, you know... actually happen.

Oh, and I found it. So it's alright.
