I've had a great time here, even though I stopped playing Golden Sun years ago. All of you have made this forum a great place to talk and goof off. And even though I probably should, I don't consider the time I spent here to be wasted. Even so, I've had GSSF as my homepage for much longer than is healthy. And even if circumstances permitted, it is probably nonetheless time to move on.
In other words:

But, I know someone else who's going into the military, and though I doubt it, you may end up meeting him some day.
But anyway, what part of the navy are you going into?

I'm going into the nuclear branch. (power, not weapons, don't freak out) There's not much else that I can tell you as it's all classified and whatnot. At this point there are things that they won't even tell me, but I'll try to answer any further questions if you have them.

I think we made it pretty clear in TRT: Scallywag Version that Sailors are g*y.
I mean, why else would they spend months at sea in a boat full of men?
Joking. Can I ask why the Navy though? Not a Marine or Army or Air Force?
Enjoy I guess...

Mostly because the Navy has very high intelligence standards, which I can meet, and middling physical requirements, which I also can meet. The Army has no standards, they'll take anyone that can hold a gun. The Air Force has standards of reaction timing and such that I would lag way behind in because I didn't play enough video games. And the Marines have PT reqirements that I would never make because I have the coordination of and epilleptic toddler on crack at a rave.

Have a good life in the navy though. Who knows. Maybe you'll end up meeting a friend of mine. I'm pretty sure he's going into the navy as field medic. Or something along the lines of that. Was it a corman?

I didn't know the Army had poor standards.
So can I inquire if this is a career option for you or are you there to be a engineer or something? (Not a fighting man)
I ask becasue in Australia some people tend to join the armed forces as a engineer or mechanic because they get paid, free training and schooling, and when applying for a real job have that on their resume.

The official name of my position is Nuclear Electronics Technican. So no, I won't be fighting. As for using this experience to find civillian work, we'll see. Reenlistmen bonuses for people in my program tend to be pretty sweet.
I leave in a few hours, so it's entirely possible that this will be my last post. I hope that I answered all of your questions an made my departure a little less difficult.

And BTW, I know a Linville that's going to be a corman, he's in my division right now. I'll try to ask him about the syndicate before he has to leave too.

I managed to talk to Linville just before we left boot camp. When I mentioned your name, he hung his head and admitted to knowing you. When I mentioned the Syndicate, he said: "Oh, my God that's all he talks about!" When I asked if there was something he wanted me to tell you, he said: "Thaddaeus says 'hi.'" Man that was cool. Too bad we got split up...
If you ever get to talk to ol' Linny, tell him that Corpsmen ride the short bus. He'll know what I mean. Oh, and tell him that he coughs like a girl. That had been bugging me and I never got to tell him.

btw, LAFF @ people who would honestly think that joining the navy/marines/air force = fighting. Not saying any of you HONESTLY thought that, but, just LAFF at thems. Like, when I found out my friend was in the air force, one of my other friends asked him what it was like to fly planes :\
