In Memory Of Colin Mcrae

As cruel as faith may be, it seems our greatest idols always die at the wrong moment. Colin McRae, spiritual father of the rally, has died on the age of 39, along with his 5-year old son. On September 15th, while enjoying a relaxing flight in his helicopter, together with his son, a friend and another child, they crashed down around a kilometer from his house. It was confirmed that Colin was steering the helicopter. Timing couldn't have been better. After a succesful carreer as rallydriver, Colin resigned in 2006. Now, a year later, while he was enjoying his free time, he died. Cruel, but it happened.
My thoughts go out to his family and friends. And may he rest in peace.

It was all over the news over the weekend. It's a horrible thing to happen. I just hope his family copes with it.

I've never been a fan of rally driving; I prefer the videogame format. I think he killed some members of his family in the crash, if I remember correctly.
Oh, and Neo, it's spelt 'peace'. Don't want you to get that wrong at a funeral or something.

He's Dutch. English is his second language. Understandable mistake.
And sorry to say, but I had no idea who Colin Mcrae was before this incident. I'm a kinda guy who ignores (and forget) practically everything I do not follow/dislike. I heard (little) of the video game series named after him though.
May his soul rest in peace though. Sad to see someone go so young.

How many people here speak English as a second language anyway?

OffT: That spellingmistake makes me ashamed hehe, English may be my second language, but I always thought I almost mastered it :).
OnT: To Spam King; indeed, one of his family members also died in the crash - his 5 year old son. It was an accident, though, so "killed" is a bit harsh.

Ah, I can't believe I didn't see this. Such a damn shame. Great man. Sorry to see him go. The fact that his son died too is even worse. Kid never got to see his potential.
