I've got 1GB, but my PC was made in '01, so it still sucks balls. Fat juicy disgusting salty sweaty balls. You could probably have gone without reading that last part though, I'm guessing.
Anyway, so far, I know that I got a better cellphone, and I actually have a plan instead of pay as you go, and then I have a freakishly awesome gold and black faceplate thingy of deathtitude for it, so the pink doesn't show. And then I'm possibly getting an HTC Shift depending on if it's a scam or not. Which I sure as hell am hopeing it isn't.
More after I open my presents in *checks clock*......10 or so hours. Give or take an hour or two.

Wow, and I thought I was the one with the least amount of RAM here. O.o I have 387 megabytes, but I asked for 2 gigs of RAM for Christmas. On That note, it's 12:24 AM Christmas day, but I will have to, of course, wait until 9:00 or 10:00 Am to open presents. =P

Toasty, what would be a good Graphics card for me?
I want something cheap, but I also want it to run Oblivion on mid-spec.
I'm also in the market for some New RAM.
1gb of DDR2 would be nice..
Suggestions?

Depending on what type of slots you have available, I'd go for the 6800GT, the 7900GS, or the 7950GT if you only have an AGP slot.
If you have a PCI Express X16, then Id suggest the 8600 GTS or 7950 GT. The 8600 offers DirectX10 support, which means it'll support more games in the future, plus, it usually offers a better framerate, BUT, the 7950GT seems to do better with anti-aliasing than the 8600GTS. That means things will look smoother with the 7950GT.
If you have PCI 2.0 slots, then go with the 8800GT. It outperforms the 8800GTS, and it's cheaper.
The 7950GT is the best you can buy if you have an AGP slot. It's also the best card under $300 you can get (usually. Sometimes you'll find an 8800GTS for under $300) if you have a PCI-E X16 slot, but if you have PCI 2.0, go for the 8800GT. Best cost to performance ratio of any Nvidia card.
Those are all Nvidia's GeForce cards though. I don't know a lot about ATI's Radeon cards.
As far as RAM goes, just buy some RAM that fits your PC and runs at the same speed as your FSB. You can always adjust the latency timeing in BIOS. Unless you have a dell. If you have a dell, burn it with napalm and get a new computer. But low latency RAM is better for gameing, if you're too lazy to adjust it yourself in BIOS.

And I have a PCI-E slot.
It's an Asus P5B mo-bo..
So what's the best now?
#23
Posted 25 December 2007 - 07:13 AM
Again, there might be a Radeon card that's better, but usually the GeForce 8 series outdoes Radeon's latest cards.

-A printer
-Final Fantasy XII Revenent Wings for DS (It's a sequel, makes me wish I'd played some of the console FFs, but I'll catch up. I really wanted FFTA2, but it isn't in Engish yet. I hope its because they're trying not to screw the pooch on translation again.)
-Complete Star Trek Encyclopedia (The fish in Captain Piccard's ready-room is named "Livingston." This information is so practical!)
That's all for now. Probably more tomorrow.

1. It suits better backwards, just stating the facts here.
2. It's a 3 Cheers hat, not black parade.
It's alright though Sibsag, you're the type of kid who wears fluro t-shirts and I kick out of the cinema's for not having ID, so no offence taken :P

That one will work. And no, it just means that it'll work well with Vista. A lot of the video cards have problems when running games on Vista. It'll work on XP or whtever perfectly fine.

That reminds me of....well, that reminds me of right now! Got the Wii games, don't got a Wii. It also reminds me of a few years ago when I got my DS. My parents always let us pick out one present to open on christmas eve, and back then, I ended up opening my DS. I layed in bed the whole night makeing a motion picture thingy in pictochat. And then I got the games!
So now, I wait.

I don't wear fluro t-shirts. Just coloured ones.. And not all the time!
Do you kick tight-jeans wearers out too?
And kids that are cooler than you?

Me too! ^^ It's funny that someone else got a gift card there.
And oh. my. god! I LOVE the Wii! I'm so pro at Wii tennis ^^ and if you ever play Elebits, it's seriously the most addicting game ever! My brother got me a Mii editor to play with on the computer or something liike that, so I have yet to use that.
I also got a drawing manequin for my spiffy artfullness! Y'know, the wooden figures that have a stick going up their butts? Like this! My brothers had a good time joking about that. My grandparents didn't quite get it though. (Which made it even funnier XD)
I also got a sewing/embroidery machine (not that you males would probably care). I'm really happy though because I'm a beginner seamstress, and I really wanted to make a dress for my upcoming Winter Formal, so this will be really nice to use.
Gift cards:
- Target
- Claires/Icing (yes, I'm such a girl :P)
- STARBUCKS ZOMGLURF.
- Barnes and Noble
- Big arse pack of AA batteries (I'm ALWAYS running out!)
- Chocolate/candy
- random hello kitty stuff.
- Floppy Disks (for my embroidery machine AND I can use them on my old mac to transfer over stuff I have on there onto my PC)

My aunt and uncle are buying us a new puppy, because our dog died earlier this month. We get him on the 7th, but he's still a Christmas present!
Me individually:
- A Wii with Super Mario Galaxy (I'll get it whenever Best Buy gets them in stock.)
- A music journal (I can compose in it! Yay!)
- A music calender
- A $15 iTunes gift card (really doesn't sound like much, but I'm struggling to find just a few songs, iTunes lacks a lot of the music I want. I'm not complaining though!)
- A beanie baby (it's cute.)
- So far $80, this isn't counting my birthday (which is coming in a few hours!) and any money that my friends are getting me... So it'll at least be $160 in the end. However, with my friend's it'll be more, I'm sure.
- A keychain (I like it.)
- A little scrapbook thing to put pictures of our new dog in it.

i think they're cute :P ...the pants, not the...department.
