Video Game Moments

For me the opening of Sonic Adventure was an important one. Not because it was mind boggling (though it was good) but because it was the first thing I played on Christmas day 2000 when I got my first proper console. Up until then I'd been playing on my sister's Megadrive or on my Game Boy Colour (when I had to settle for stuff like Harvest Moon) but the Dreamcast was the first system that I owned myself. In the end Sega stopped production like a few months later and the Dreamcast has since broke, but at the time it was special.

FFX/X-2/XII - Their openings were badass also. Not as exciting as before, when watching it now though ;_;.
I might need some help from Laharl to help me get a YouTube link ^^ (or even give a correct description of the scene or anyone who played X, but this was one of my favourite moments from FFX -

As for a video game moment, when I got my 360 at xmas I was playing it until 3 in the morning when I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer trying to get as much playtime in as possible. It really was brilliant.

Lord of the Rings: The Third Age. I think that was the title. You play as some guy who is trailing after the fellowship to help them. Along the way you get cutscenes from the movies and battle a bunch of orcs and other baddies. You even get to have a few battles where you get to team up with the main characters when they are not part of the story, like when Gandaulf is missing after the Balrog, he joins you temporarly. Best moment of the game, Fighting the giant eye of Saroun on top of his tower and winning.

I was a soldier as usual, and we were stuck in a stalemate, as most of their team were engineers with sentries covering their base, and we relied on actual skill to stop people, with spies behind the intelligence to backstab those who stole it.
Anyway, we were stuck in this situation of pressing the attack trying to take out sentries, and then dying and having to defend for a quite a long time (the match was on unlimited time). It was like this for about an hour, when I cracked with boredom, ran out onto the bridge, shovel armed. I sat there for about 10 minutes just taunting with the shovel, screaming at the oppostition. After a while, some teammates joined in with the shovel taunting. Eventually our whole team was on the bridge, yelling at the enemies with their shovels out.
Naturally, the enemies, being the scorewhores that they are, took advantage of this and went in and killed us all. Then we did it again. We did this for about 2 hours, just running out and taunting with the enemies killing us; their scores were skyrocketing over 1000.
Finally, we all spade rushed them, constantly swinging our spades, killing sentries. The best part?
We won 3-0
We were in fits afterwards laughing.

Blowing up Oil Rigs in mercs 2. Possibly my most incredible gaming experience ever.
I'll go through it in detail because it was so ****ing awesome.
First I got a little jet ski and infiltrated the bottom of the rig, climbing a ladder and dispatching of the guards around there. Then I went up onto the main platform, where the alarms were sounded. Soldiers flocked my way so I gunned them all down. Ran up a set of stairs to a large, crucial looking building which I promptly planted C4 on and blew up. Then I got the target I was supposed to verify, who I chased out of his office, tied him up and got him taken away by the UN for verification. All the soldiers were out to get me now, and about 3 helicopters were orbiting looking for me, so I placed 3 more C4's on large structures, and blew them all; crushing a majority of soldiers to death. Finally, I called in the big one; a bunker buster down on the main rig platform. I had only seconds to escape before the buster destroyed everything in its proximity, so ran to a chopper on the helipad and took off JUST as the bomb hit. The helipad crumbled below my chopper, but I managed to make it out just in time to watch the fireworks and the sinking rig.
This game is worth replaying just to blow up the oil rigs. It NEVER gets old.

Very good feeling when you get S for Time, S for Style, S for Orbs, No Item use bonus and No damage bonus.

A bit late, but if they're turtling at courtyard as engineers, the smartest thing is to do the exact same thing.
I've done some crazy epic **** as soldier today. Triple kill with a crit rocket. <3
Took out an engi + pyro + level 3 sentry as medic, too.

Someone I know at school did something similar, except with a tactical nuke, and he didn't get out in time.

Anyway, its much more fun to fly out on a chopper in the last minute.
Theres also another mission in Mercs 2 where you have to destroy an entire castle, a bridge and a tower. The island was in the shape of a crescent, with the tower on 1 point of the crescent, the castle on the other and the bridge connecting them. I started with the tower; flew up to the top, put 3 bundles of C4 on it for good measure, flew down and detonated, watching the people surrounding get crushed by debris and the people on top fly from the explosions. Then I ran along the bridge to get to the castle shooting as many people as possible. I got to the castle but there were too many soldiers so i was on very low health, running back along the bridge. I threw an artillery strike beacon on the bridge with soldiers chasing me, so as soon as I was out of the way, the artillery fell, the bridge was annihalated and the soldiers with it, so no more troops could get to my position. Then I decided to blow up the castle using stealth. I jumped down off the remains of the bridge into the sea below, and swam round the side of the island and climbed up the side near an unguarded part of the castle where there were very few guards who were killed quickly. Ordered a bunker buster on the castle and ran for the hills. Watched the fireworks from a watch tower nearby. It was beautiful watching half of the castle fall down the hill and into the sea.
I do love mercs 2.

after being dominated in the ass by the engi, I went medic, and told him. He LOL'd, I peaked the corner with syringe gun and started spraying the wall. Of course, he ran out to shoot me and ate syringe. I ran back and reloaded, a pyro AND a scout pushed me at the same time. I syringed them both then ubersawed the engineer who was rushing me with his wrench. Proceeded to syringe his level 3 sentry, dispenser, and teleporter exit. LOL.
