Four good friends, two of whom are possibly my BEST friends, were in a car crash a few days ago. Some Greek guy slammed into them at a great speed, and the car in which my friends were toppled onto the roof. The amazing thing is, not only that all four of them are alive, they're all quite well and able to move about and do stuff normally. An ambulance arrived right away and took them to the hospital, where the doctors saw that there's nothing wrong with them, except three of them have slight neck and shoulder pains and the driver had his skin torn off his knee. They're already at home and going to school and stuff, but they're drinking tons of medicines so they don't feel the pain. The crash was in all our newspapers.

And I could have been in the car with them. I was hanging out with them earlier that day, and had I not asked my friend to drive me home maybe I would have gone with them wherever they were going.

Anyhow, I'm just extremely relieved they're all right. When I first heard what had happened I was shocked and extremely scared. I was almost panicky. They were an inch from death, yet they somehow managed to escape it with minimal injuries. Thank God they're okay...

Well it's nice to hear they're okay.

So exactly what happened then? Did they run a red light, or did this guy run a red light?

Apparently all accidents happen at red lights.

Apparently, my friend did nothing wrong. He can be a relatively reckless driver, and even drive drunk(a week ago after a party he drove me around and two more guys who were in this accident with all four of us drunk), but it seems he didn't do anything wrong this time. A bus driver said to the police that the Greek dude took over his bus at a big speed and that he did so over a full line in the road(you know, the line where you cannot take over other people) shortly before the crash.

I'm sick of hoon drivers; I hear them drag past my house every other night. I don't know how they get the balls to put themselves and other road users in such pointless danger. And for what? A couple of grins from the back seat? Idiots.

Here's a sort of continuation to this story: yesterday evening a friend and I fell off a speeding motorbike, and that friend(who was driving the bike) was one of the four people from the car crash. Although what happened last night wasn't as dangerous as the car thing(not even close) I'm still lucky to have escaped with small injuries. Most of the skin on my right knee was torn off, a bit of skin was torn off one of my fingers too, my *** hurts a bit and I have a couple of bruises. All that happened to my friend was that his jacket got slightly ripped.

I don't ever want to put alcohol on an open wound again.

                            * Wags finger* Just because they pour booze on wounds in the movies doesn't mean it will work IRL. You should have just bandaged it until you got home, cleaned it and bandaged it up again then.

For the same reason you fell off your bike when you were first learning to ride. You lost your balance.

Alcohol kills germs. That's why they put it on wounds.

Yes but it also stings like hell. Waiting until he got home wouldn't have killed him. Infact, it would have been better if he hadn't poured alcohol on it in the first place because it makes it painful to move, while if he'd just wrapped a hankie around if or something he could have waited until he got home, cleaned it with disinfectant and bandaged it up normally, without the alcohol pain.

I feel really clever tonight 8-B

And then it would get infected, fall off, and he'd be minus one arm.

                                    ....real clever.

I'd imagine that it'd hurt just as much as hydrogenperoxide, which is what is normally used to disinfect wounds.

Because that would happen after 10 minutes.

I've gone for a day without knowing I had a wound when i smashed my shin on a wall i scraped the skin off the front and I didn't notice until the next morning when I had a shower.

Dirt on the side of a road has more germs than your wall.

Besides, who ever said that he put alcohol on it while he was still on the side of the road?

                                          I wasn't asking you though...

I wasn't even driving the motorbike, my friend was. I went with him because a bunch of my friends were at my house where we were drinking, listening to music and playing table tennis, and they were all getting hungry, so he went to buy some food and I went with him because he didn't know where all the shops were.

Anyhow, we fell because my friend is a idiot. We were going behind a bus that was stopping at a bus station. To our left there was another bus coming. I yelled to my friend to stop behind the bus in front of us, but he began speeding up and attempted to cross into the other lane by driving through the small gap left between the two buses. And he would have succeeded too had he not started to brake like crazy. That's when we smashed ourselves into the road. Apparently, he's still a bit afraid of driving since the car accident, so he got scared we would be sandwiched between the buses.

I put the alcohol on my knee when we got to my house. My friends found some drink I could use(we didn't want to put beer on it, of course) and got me a cloth to put over it afterwards.

And my parents don't know a thing about this, because they would strangle me if they knew.

o_O According to the pattern, you should avoid unicycles at all costs.

And not just unicycles, Mallick. Any kind of vehicle.
