THE DRUGS THE DENTIST PUT ME ON WERE AWESOME. I FELT FUNNY AFTER I WOKE UP. PLUS, NO PAIN.

Got my wisdom teeth pulled today btw. Whoever said Friday the 13th was unlucky can suck my lucky balls.

This doesn't mean however that I'm going to start taking drugs, of course....

Wisdom teeth surgery can be brutal. I remember getting my lower ones removed, they were literally embedded in part of my jaw, so they had to drill off a piece of bone to get to them. 5-7 shots of anesthesia and I still felt some shock.

And yes, those drugs can make you feel quite... aloof. It's almost tempting.

        Darn right it is.

I was worried that the anesthesia was going to wear off on me before it was all done. It did for my sister (she was awake for the last few minutes, but she didn't feel anything), and I have a higher metabolism than she does.

But it's awesome, because you start to feel the effects of the stuff almost immediately after being stuck in the arm. I didn't think the blood stream flowed that fast.

Anyway, my sister got hers pulled when she was 14, and she felt like crap afterwords. She didn't eat enough the night before so her stomach was upset from the lack of food, and she didn;t want to eat anything. Because she wouldn't eat, she couldn't take the pain meds, and so she was also in extreme pain.

She went back to school a day or so later though.

Anyway, the numbing agent they put on my mouth for this is a lot stronger than the stuff they use during fillings and whatnot. You could've cut my chin off and I wouldn't have even known until two hours later.

As long as you get them pulled sooner than later, you'll be fine. I was supposed to get mine pulled in the first week of January, so pretty much any fear before the surgery stemmed from that.

Just make sure you take the pain meds as soon as your jaw starts to hurt.

And the pain will probably be more dull then sharp. Kind of like a headache in your mouth. But if you take the pain meds, it's really no big deal. My sister didn't though, so she was in pain for the first day.

Also, keep the ****ing ice on your cheeks afterwords. Seriously.

                      Mine sucked.

I guess they put me to sleep......or at least I thought I was. lol
But I got all four of mine pulled at once. It pretty much sucked. Especially since I am retarded and took percocet on an empty stomach. That was the worst feeling in the world. The meds the doctor gave me while I was there were amazing though. According to my mom I fell over ran into all kinds of things, and threw up blood in the drive way because I took my gauze out to early while I was still on the drugs, but i don't even remember a thing.

Holy crap man. They must've had you on some serious **** for you to not remember it.

But really, follow these simple rules and you'll get through it as awesomely as I did:

The dentist will tell you to not eat anything after a certain time the night before the operation (that way there won't be anything for you to throw up, or at least not much incase you react badly to the anesthesia). Basically, eat as much as you can, as close to the deadline as possible (I had two feet of sub and three glasses of milk 15 minutes before my 9PM deadline).

After the surgery, leave the gauze in and take a nap in a chair (preferably with something under your chin. I guarantee you'll drool blood). That way the holes will have some time to bleed out a bit, and you'll get some shut eye.

After the nap, eat something that doesn't require chewing (like yogurt, or in my case, poached eggs with cottage cheese. Really good stuff), and DEFINITELY TAKE THE PAIN MEDS. You'll want to take those meds, whatever they me be, at the prescribed intervals. Unless of course you want to experience enough pain to make you hurl. I waited a little too long on the second day and my stomach didn't feel so good because of it.

You should probably replace the gauze at least three times on the first day. Maybe four. Don't keep them in on the second day unless they're still badly bleeding or you could get dry socket.

Keep ice on your cheeks as often as possible on the first day, and go to bed that night with ice packs on them. It'll keep the swelling down.

Other than that, just take the meds and keep your stomach full, and it's smooth sailing.
