Yes, I have a beard growing, but I'd have to shave it a lot. I just got it when I hit 13, and I don't like it. My 5 'o clock shadow scratched me in a few places on my arm and the back of my hands when I sleep (yes, I'm a restless sleeper), and I tell ya, it's not like my pillow at all. =/

So, I ask you other men, are you already growing some facial hair in a few places, and if you have to shave there, too?

yes. my beard started late when I was 13, but it wasn't very full then at all. now I'm 15 and it isn't completely full, but it's pretty darn close. To keep the unwanted facial hair in check, I have to shve about once every 2-3 days, but I'm really lazy about that, and I only shave about once a week.

How is that hard to believe? Many people stated at 14 around me, But I grew different, kinda like a birth defect. Something about premature puberty. Anyways, my dad started shaving at 13, while my Uncle Frank started at 12 as well. Kinda odd, but that's a paternal trait in my family. I think I made a post on this before.

In my school, if you are caught unshaved, then you have to go to the bathroom and dry shave with a single blade cheap, plastic razor. No cream, aftershave, or anything. I had to do that in the 7th grade... bleh, it's very annyoing.

We have too many rules. Shirt tails tucked in, belts, no jerseys, etc. Our school has rules just to tick off the students and get us angrier than ever. The shaving rule was thrown at us when there were alot gangs around, now it's just a bunch of posers. Also, teachers are allowed it... what if they are in gangs...?

Darn. My school dosn't have uniform, our "dress code" is very lenient also. My school is pretty small though, about 500 studens from prep-year 12.

We got about 850 students, normal size, and the shaving rule is strictly inforced, we can get OCS (On Campus Suspention), detentions, or stuff like that for it.

What do you all use to shave? I use the Gillette Mach 3... Any cream besides Colgate will do, anything that foams really. For aftershave... Old Spice... Ah, forgot the name of the other, but I used it often, and it's awsome.

It's healing(Yes healing..it's still there)but it's not that big. You can't see it that well because it's at the bottom of my chin. I wont shave again until it looks like I have a beard growing.(which I kind of do)

I prefer keeping a "light" beard on me. I only shave when it grows extremely out of hand (usually once every month/two months) and even then, I don't shave it all off, I just "trim" it and make it a nice, thin, even layer.

A regular razor gives a much closer shave, so it won't grow back as fast. It also hurts like hell and you cut yourself sometimes. Your chioce.

Shaving doesn't make your facial hair grow faster though, it only makes it stronger. At first when you shave you'll get soft facial hair after a while, then when you start to do it more often, the hair will try to grow thicker to survive the razors.. it'll seem like it grows back faster but that's just the effect of growing older.

If you use the right shaving cream/gel, and you're careful, you shouldn't be cutting yourself. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Not true, actually. I was watching something on tv about this and they proved shaving has no effect on the rate or thickness. It seems that way because your facial hair is developing while you are also shaving, so after a few shaves it may seem thicker but had you not shaved for that period of time it would have become that thick anyway.

Perfect sense, many studies have shown that. However it's lived on as an old housewife tale and it's one of those things that even the most well-informed people believe.

I used to just let my beard grow out, shaving only once a month (not even) if it got too out of hand. My new style since I've entered college though is to shave at least every other day, with an electric razor. And once every two weeks or so, I'll do a complete shave with a hand razor for the smooth, clean-shaven effect - but I hate doing that because I tend to cut myself a lot while using it.

I saw the same report. Because the new hair growing in is darker and thicker than the hair that just left, it appears to grow faster when in fact, it isn't.

I shave electric one day, manual the next. So basically, I'm shaving every day and I don't really care. It's just become something I do in the morning.
