This is a picture of an original character I did a long time ago. It's actually proved quite popular, though it could really do with colour and a good scan. -_-

Well, I have no confidence in my art so I'm inclined to think it's rubbish. I am also quite a lot older than many who post artwork here, so for my age I'm not that impressive. I've been drawing for many years ...

Yeah..I agree with Somia, you could do VERY well if you practised more on proportions n.n;

Her head is just gorgeous. Her expression gives you the feeling that she's misterious and her hair is beautiful n.n. And, that pose is amusing :D;

I just saw this topic. Wow her face looks great, her hair to. She seems a bit to skinny. Also her finger are so thin. Other then that I would say this is some great art and I glad to see that people can draw pictures that don't relate to anime.<_<

Thanks for the critic, guys, I really appreciate it. ^^ The only thing I will say is that she's supposed to be a 14 year old girl - still a child really, and children usually have bad proportions anyway. Meh, what am I saying - that's a lame excuse. :angry:;;

I think it's very good actually n.n You have a nice shading technique, it's actually done like most art teachers recommend it o.o; Only thing is, if he's the Cloud I think he is, he looks rather old x.o;;

And, don't worry about the smudges n.n; Smudging is another technique even o.o;

very good image, that last one (I think it's cloud),
your shading is amazing, just perfect, no comments on that,
the bone of the nose has a bit to strong lines, it would be a bit better if you saw the nose coming forward by shading instead of lines. the mouth is good, but the upper lip is a bit to small IMO.
overall great image, 8.5/10

In answer to Zxor's query about time length, I drew it over 2 days on and off, and then was left with just the hair left to do. So I did that in 10 minutes. But I am still pleased with how it came out. Oh, and it could definately benefit from some editing in an art program, but I don't have any and I have too many other things to buy right now. :( But maybe in the future I will. ^^

Here's another. Now, I know it's not as good as Cloud and runs along the same kind of thread as the first picture, but I think I'm more proud of it because it is an original character and is conceptual. This character is called Uingin and he comes from the same thing as the first girl, Soltis. And yes, it's a guy. ^^;;;;;

well i coud say the usual " its great and your marvellous" buuuut...

maybe the eyes are a little too much of a contrast to the rest of the face...i mean they should be the thing that draws attention but perhaps they're a little too dark?

Uh, a tutorial? Not really. ^^;;;;; Well, the only thing I can do is comment on and critique any artwork you show me. I'd be happy to do that. The only thing I can say as to my skill is that I've been drawing and practising for many years, and that for my age I'm not that amazing.

Well, I guess it's time to show you all another one. This is of Aeris from Final Fantasy VII, inspired by the realistic style of the upcoming movie, Advent Children. I actually prefer this one to the picture I did of Cloud, but I think Cloud is overall a better picture technically.

im gonna skip round the preliminary marvelling and get straight to the good stuff,

um..im not sure the neck and head are perfectly proportioned but then i cant be sure whether shes wearing a necklace or if thats the top of her shirt (not that thats a critiscism, that'll just be me being slow)

otherwise the texture of the face and the shading is perfect and really adds dimension to the drawing

It's of Eponine from Les Miserables, for those who have seen the (wonderful) musical, seen one of the many (awful) films or read the (awesome) book. She's my favourite character from it. ^^ She herself has been shaded in pencils, and for the colour in the background I used ink. My first go with inks too! :blink:

Excellent Mewt, the colours and toning is all extremely good. maybe the head is a little too large for the legs though unless thats an effect you're going for to make her see stretched or thin.
