I'm sorry to say this, but we are going to have to push the server test back a week. We have had unanticipated problems with our new server, which we are trying to fix ASAP. The whole point of this third server test is to test the two servers working together, so we do not want to open the server test without having the second server ready. I'll post another update as soon as we get the server working or have another change of plans.

Wow, load balancing is a reality for GSW. (I only wish the server I'm on was load balanced, its up around 2.0 load [max 1.0 on 1 cpu])

I guess I might as well explain what what I said actually means. Usually, a website or game application runs on a single server (computer), which handles all requests from users. However, sometimes the number of requests exceeds the capabilities of the server. To remedy those kind of situations, you "load balance," which basically means you connect two or more computers together, and have them work together as a team to serve up the website or game information.

So for the past two server tests, we were using a single server. However, we have always been looking towards the future, and we decided it would be best to get another server at this early stage and make sure everything works before we go live 24/7. So now we have a second server, but it is having troubles running our software. However, once it gets running, our two servers will talk and play nicely together, meaning that you, the users, get the most reliable connections and that we can keep our hosting bills down by splitting the load between the two servers.

To answer your question ROF, I have met alot of people in my years as a webmaster and freelance web designer, and some of the people are thankful for the help I've given them. Both servers that GSW is (will) be running on are the property of two such friends, both of who have been gracious enough to allow me to use their servers' resources free of charge.
