Whats up with it? I find it very annoying when I'm searching for posts.

Oh yeah, I searched and found no results for a topic like this, but if its still a dupe, forgive me.

Well, when your searching something to see if a topic idea you have is a duplicate or not, it gets very annoying.

I fully agree. Search flood is silly and I see no reason to have one.

I think it's annoying to, it just gets in the way.

There's a time you have to wait before searching something after you search it? That's insanely stupid.

I agree. why would you want to stop people from searching things quickly?

Because some people write scripts that use the search feature to harvest information, which taxes the server heavily and degrades performance for everyone else. Almost every forum software that I've used has a anti-search-flood feature turned on by default.

I though there may have been something like that. What about bringing it down to 5 or 10 seconds. Won't that have the same effect.

Ok, after talking with Eugine earlier today I decided to lower the flood delay to only 10 seconds.

                        Thanks Max.
                        No need for this anymore.
