Me, I think there will be a GS3, and I think it will be on the gamecube, because I have heard some news from magazines and from sites about GS3, and camelot are thinking about it going on gamecube. Of course, I have no actual evidence with me, but post your thoughts. Oh, and shoot me if this a dupe

The gba would be a waste since of the now pathetic graphics.
Hopefully not gamecube since i own a ps2
Hopefully DS since i own one and GS could really push it to its limits, and the mini games would rock with the touchscreen.

I think it will be for either DS or N5(never heard of). I don't think it will be for GBA or Gamecube because they are kind of old, it probably would sell more on a newer system.

I would say the Nintendo DS because it is the newest system that Nintendo has released and has more potential then the Nintendo Gamecube.

Another reason would be because of the touch screen which will allow the the stats menu to be looked upon or allowing mini games to function on it.

I don't think that there will be a GS3 (unfortunately), but if there is one, I think it will be made for the Nintendo DS for the reason stated in the above post.

Well, I don't know if there will be a GS3, but if there is, I think it will be for GCN or NDS, but I think more like NDS since it is a portable game console. However, I don't have the DS, but I wish I did.

I think what IISMN means by 'N5' is the Nintendo Revolution.

I SEVERELY doubt there will be a GS3. But if there would be one it'd probably be on Nintendo DS.

okay, I'd like to say this...I don't think DS was the intended next gameboy so that's why I doubt it will be on that.

However, i remember ages ago an interview saying that GS1 and 2 were just intros to the bigger game or something. So that's why I say GCN or NRev.

It will probably be the DS, as the GS games were intended to be portable RPGs, and the next portable system by Nintendo just happens to be the DS.

I feel kind of stupid for asking, but what is the Nintendo Revolution? Is it the next-gen console after the GameCube?

Yes, it is Nintendo's next-generation home console system, that will, according to Nintendo, fundamentally change how video games are played, and will be completely distinct from other consoles.

That having been said, Camelot is working on a next-generation project; there was an ad posted in a Japanese publication requesting those with experience and such, and there has been word that at this year's E3, Camelot will at least announce this game.

I personally do not mind which system a Golden Sun 3 would come out on, if it is even in consideration. Either the DS or Revolution would be excellent candidates, although I would prefer the latter, if anything.

Recent reports suggest that Camelot Software Planning is recruiting more development talent in an effort to develop an RPG game for next generation systems.

Camelot has already denied development for the Nintendo DS so if this game is indeed Golden Sun, expect the game to be released on the Nintendo Revolution.

I wonder.. It would be fascinating if it were a multi-platform kind of thing, with one aspect of the game at one place, and one at the other, like GBA/Game cube or DS/Revolution, if they have any capability with echother.. That may be interesting, but I would regret it happening with a game like Golden Sun..

I would like to see a third game, but I just don't know if such good acts can be followed up.. They may ruin the whole thing >.<
My brother has a DS, and when I play Golden Sun (It's on the bottom screen of his DS) I always want to pound away on the little status menu buttons.. It would be so handy.. That would be nice, if it were for the DS.. If only they used the same form of graphics, and didn't try to render them like characters in the N64 Zelda games.. That would be so unfortunate.. I said Revolution, but it very may well be any of them, save Game Cube. That would be disappointing.

I dont mind wich format it comes out on - i will say though...Camelot arent restricted to nintendo and they may release it on all next gen formats in an attempt to sell it better. If the rights to the actual game are somehow bound to Nintendo which is unlikely but possible, they'll probably just make a new rpgs series and then release to all formats with that.

Camelot has stated it is working on a game for Nintendo's next-generation system, Revolution. I will recheck the source to see if it was specifically an RPG. There is always the chance that it is another entry in the Golden Sun series, but I highly doubt it.

I would prefer it on GBA, just because I think of it more as a portable game good for in cars, I cannot see GS being 3d, or even play it on a TV, i prob wouldnt like it as much.

Thats a very good point. GS easily looked one of the best games on the advance in my opinion so making one that pushed the DS as hard would mean it would turn out awesome^^

I believe you've got it backwards. Camelot had a advertisement up on respected Gaming Publication Famitsu, in japan, seeking employment of new talent or workers to join Camelot with the development of an RPG game for "next generation systems." What that next generation system is is unknown at this point, but Camelot's relationship with Nintendo suggests that this RPG is heading to the Nintendo Revolution.

Whether or not the next Game Boy can be put into perspective with this is, very unclear. Hopefully we'll learn more at E3.

Golden Sun's characters and music is owned by Nintendo. The game's scenario and program is owned by both Nintendo and Camelot. That means the series is really owned, for the most part, by Nintendo, where if Camelot were to depart from Nintendo, a port of Golden Sun for the Nintendo DS or something wouldn't be possible seeing as Camelot owns the rights to THAT games scenarios and program. Unless Nintendo is granted permission from Camelot stating otherwise, the company will have to remake Golden Sun with new backgrounds, sprites/polygons, etc... or completey reinvent the game all together.

Whatever the case is, Nintendo can put the Golden Sun cast in Super Smash Bros. if they wanted too with no problem.

Also, from the situation we have right now, Nintendo can pressure Camelot to develop another Golden Sun game if sales are sky-rocketing seeing as they're the publisher and they have heavey say for what development houses should be working on (they don't have absolute power though).



PS: Does anyone know if Camelot is still working on Mario Tennis for Game Boy Advance? I haven't heard any word about it for some time now and it is the only game Camelot has mentioned to be in development in the past along with the other Mario sports games which have finally arrived to their designated console/handheld.

I say Revolution, it would totally rock to see a 3D Golden Sun, and finnally once and for all make a competition, since Nintendo lacks of good RPGs

DS definately. :)

The touch screen will let you zip through windows and attack swiftley and you can choose what the screen that you don't use has on it. (Djinni, Map, Status ect)

BTW, I disagree with a previous post, I think the DS was for FPSs. ^_^

It'll be on the DS for sure. I cant imagine a crew of 11 making a game worthy of the cube. DS for sure. Unless something else is invented before it's release.

Ok I may be a noob but I do lots of research on goldensun, I found a interview with camelot and they said they are working on a gs3 btu will not give anything else other then it wil not be on the DS but a much later portable system currently being tested.
