Don't mind me, but, I learned this in my Physical Science class. Apparently, Karst's (yes, one of the semi-antagonistic characters, partnered with Agatio) name came from a earthern term known as Karst topography. By following the link, there's a hefty document that explains all what Karst topography's about.
Hope this is interesting enough for you.

It was interesting to me, when you told me about this on GSW ^^
I think I first heard "karst"(as an actual term) last year, tho, when taking Geophysical Systems, but it must've slipped my mind.

That was interesting, especially because i've always wondered how Camelot came up with names like that. I think it makes perfect sense that Karst's name means "barren land'; just look at Prox.

You should check out the Real World references forum. They have all sorts of this stuff there.

"barren land" eh? Well, that makes sense enough. Geez, everything has a purpose in GS doesn't it.

Of course. Why wouldn't it? Alchemy, Sol & Luna, the clans; mostly everything has to be relevant to the real world, or it wouldn't make sense.
