Okay. No matter how many things I download nor if they're on a different server, BitTorrent just won't budge. I leave something to download, come back later, and it still hasn't downloaded one sliver of KB. I'm using the original client for it (simply named BitTorrent), and ... that's pretty much it. Is it some sort of malfunction or something?

Maybe you should download the new client, and second, check how many peers are actually on that server, if none are on then you wont download.

Yes, if there is no seeder online for that application, you won't download.

Actually, the client seems fine. I see the problem, though; no one was there to let me download it. I believe this problem's solved.
