Everyone has an opinion on the happenings on the night of March 8th, 2004. Some think that Steve Moore deserved to get a sucker punch for giving Marcus Naslund a concussion. Others think that Todd Bertuzzi should be given more of a hefty punishment.

For those of you don't know, on March 8th, there was a game against the Vancouver Cancucks and the Colorado Avalanche. This was two weeks after Steve Moore, a first year in Colorado, body checked Marcus, giving him a concussion, and avoiding a call. Canuck players and fans were outraged at the fact there was no call from a rookie player giving the captain of a team a concussion.

There we were, two weeks later, playing the Avalanche. Canucks players were going to remind Colorado not to do that again, but took it too far after Steve Moore backed down from a fight with Matt Cooke, smallest man on our team, and Todd Bertuzzi, came from behind, sucker punching him in the head. This caused Moore to fall on the ice, with 245 pound Bertuzzi and many Colorado players on top. Moore was carried away on a stretcher, brought to the closest hospital. Bertuzzi got the rest of his season taken away.

Now, fourteen monthes later, the NHL is having a reinstatment hearing to determine whether Bertuzzi will be able to play on the Canadian team in the world championship of hockey, after not playing for over a year. What will they decide? No one really knows. You just have to wait.

I wrote this small article last night because I wanted to. =3

I think that Vancouver did the right thing protecting Näslund and hitting back on Steve Moore. But Bertuzzi shouldn't have done it in the way he did it. He broke Moore's neck!

I hope, as a swede, that they won't let him play in the WC(they've beaten us in the 2 last finals)

As a Vancouverite that stands behind his hockey team, I only have this to say:

FREE BERT!

The way I see it is this: The suspension was the remainder of the season, he's served that time, he's been charged and sentenced, and there should be no reason why he shouldn't be reinstated ASAP.

Sorry for sort of bumping his topic, but to the post above Musicman, they figured out that it wasn't Bertuzzi that broke his neck; it was Moore's teammates all going down on him that did it.

Besides, I was not talking about "Do you think he should be back in?" as in, "No, he'll kick our team's butt." I mean that if you had no opinion on hockey whatsoever, what would you say? ...If you know what I mean?

I think that Bertuzzi should stay out of play for as long as Steve Moore stays out of play. If that means he never plays again? Too bad.
