I think the Fan Created fiction forum name should be like, called the Literature forum, or Fan Literature, mainly because it's a place to place poems, stories, and I guess possibly lyrics. It would allow a more open set of topics in that forum.

I agree. Personally, I think changing artwork to "Visual Art", and Fan Created Fiction to "Literature" is the best thing to do.

Yeah, but Nick said that the Art forum was for not only for visual art, but poems. But yeah, changing it would be cool.

The point for the 'Fan Created' is so we don't get real stories, etc being posted.

Artwork, too, can involve Music. I've seen some members post music in that art section, so "Visual Art" will kinda restrict it.

The thing is that when people hear the word art, they automatically think things along the lines of drawing and paintings. So poems never really pulled through in the art section.

We should also do something for music too. Music is a form of art as well. :rolleyes:

Anyway, I think this change would be a good one. (it's been suggested before, actually, never pulled through for some reason)

Maybe a root art forum, then 3 sub forums

Literature
Visual Art
Music

Though I doubt music would get used, and there would be copyright issues.
Not to mention clutter which I hate.

I'm against the whole 3 splits thing as it clutters a forum and make each forum less active than the whole directory.

However, as I said before, Max and I will make a decision and I will do something by the weekend.

But not all stories that are posted are literature... it's even fairly rare that 14 yo people read literature (though I read it :P). I think we must keep it to fiction.

Good point, but are all things posted there Fiction? I'm not sure if anyone has, but people may want to post non-fiction perhaps, like a letter, or a documentary that they have written for homework or something and want to get constructive feedback.

How about something like "texts" "writings" or something along those lines, as it pertains to all forms of text-based art (poetry, stories, articles etc. etc.)

You could call it Fanworks, it is more General and shows actually what it's all about.

Which is my point of making it Literature and Writings, then people can post stories, poems, songs, as well as articles and essays.
