Vote for your favourite, and discuss.
Suggest anything I have missed and it will be added.
I vote Adobe Photoshop as it is the only one I have used.
~Note: This is not for 3D programs

GIMP I have heard of, but I doubt a freeware is so good.

There are more than one version of Microsoft Paint, to let you know.
I vote Adobe Photoshop, followed by Corel Photopaint, great for brushing.
I've used Photoshop, Fireworks, Paintshop Pro, and Paint, among others.

Anyhow...
- The GIMP is way over-rated. Sure, it's open source. Whoop-de-f'ing-doo. It's got nothing else going for it.
- PaintShop Pro is pretty good as far as features go, but it's interface is sorta sloppy compared to Photoshop's interface.
- MS Paint is 73h üb3r1337 sh17!!!! It sucks, and Paint.NET is considerably better, but making designs pixel by pixel is fun sometimes.
- I haven't had a chance to really try out Fireworks, so I wouldn't know its pros and cons.
- Adobe Photoshop is the king of all raster graphics programs. 'Nuff said.
- Corel Painter is the king of all digital paint programs. 'Nuff said.

Paint is the best for Pixel-By-Pixel art, like sprites. Well, IDraw is good, but Paint is just reliable.

I'm busy with school so I don't do anything related to designing now. When summer come's around I feel I'm going to learn so I can aid my website with graphics.

Fireworks is really neat too. I only used it a couple of times during class though. And GIMP x.x I never really liked the GIMP.
Oh and, Sheba also has this painting program called Art Rage :O It does stuff just like traditional art.

Anywho, I like using the simple little program called Microsoft Paint. I've used it for awhile so I've gotten used to it.

Supposedly the best for pixel art, but I used fireworks for mine, and it was good, and turn off anti-aliasing in photoshop and it can be used for PA as well.

Most free image programs suck, infact... I can't remember which ones(besides trials) are any good...
