I use the word black because thats what they call me- I am black not african. Do you see these customs where you live? Not just with blacks but with all races. Just something for you guys to think about.

I myself am white, but I have very diverse groups of friends. Some of 'em are Asian, some of 'em are white like me, some of them are black, some of them are Mexican/Latino/Spanish...
You get the point. =)

We're all pretty much from the same "race" here. It's our grandfathers (or even great-grandfathers) who came from other places, like Europe for example :O.
In my school, I can only think about 2 or 3 African Americans/blacks o.o; Although, they only came for a year and left. (One was a senior and the other two's parents came here for job purposes.)
The only other "race" that we have here (And that I can think about) are the asians :O Most of them are chinese but again, it was their grandparents (and very rarely, their parents) who were born in China. Not them.
^So, they don't really keep much of their customs.

Prep guys don't like me, mainly because I am a punk and I listen to rock. Prep girls think I am awesome though. :P
I went to Calgary and banff (Canada) for three weeks, and some of the Canadians didn't like me at all. Most were nice though.

When I went to France, one or two guys were like "Pffsht, they (Sheba and her classmates) live in bungaloos and have no internet."
That's our stereotype :D

I am playing a game of b-ball with some of my friends, and since am quite tall it's easy to shoot over them so then they say cause of my "blackness"(yes I have anubisish friends) is why I am so good at b-ball. I don't mind it at all because thats the best compliment I'll probably ever get out of them.
To tell the truth I'd just school them even without my height.

Something similar to that happened to one of my dad's friends.
Well, his parents (or at least his dad) were german but, he grew up here in C.R. and later on, he learned german.
So, he went to Germany. He was at this clock store and he was talking to the shopkeeper. But, the shopkeeper didn't want to talk to him for some reason. So, my dad's friend went "I'm not from the U.S." and suddenly the shopkeeper started talking to him and he even said he had his doubts cause his accent was really good.
Very similar things have happened to lots of my dad's friends actually. Another one of them just had to say he was from C.R., just like how your teacher said he was canadian.
Note: I don't have anything against germans. I actually like germans a lot. These were just examples.

Another is that the Mexicans in our school don't like other latinos really. They make fun of Puerto Ricans alot, and sometimes people from Panama, Costa Rica, and Guatamala.
We have a HUGE mexican influence in our school, and a HUGE african america influence, and a HUGE rap influence. That's becoming too much of a custom here.

Hell yeah XD I think it is cause their stereotype is the same as the stereotype for all of latin america. We are little indigenous people that live in huts in the middle of the forest...and we don't know what computers are. And apparently, you have to speak to us in sign language cause we're dumb and don't speak any known language. And it is hot and sticky. ET CETERÁ. D:
ALL of us get pissed off at that stereotype o.o But apparently, some/most mexicans get more ticked off than the rest of us(latin americans). First, they tell us how Mexico is so great (I'm not saying Mexico isn't great. This comment is not sarcastic) Then, they MIGHT backfire and compare themselves Guatemala or Costa Rica for example D:
I don't blame them though. If you look at it from a general perspective, they're sort of right XD
So, the way I see it, most latin-americans act like "I'm so better than you!" against each other. I can tell cause we tend to keep track of each other.
But at the end of the day, we can easily unite n.n; Deep down, we actually have the same basic culture.

I'm quoteing my own post, because I made an error that like, effected the whole thing.

Should be:
Well, another racial custom we got here is that black and mexican "gansters" hate it when non-black or non-mexican people listen to rap and act gangster. Especially when it's an asian, white dude, or non-american. They don't mind non-american blacks though. They think Jamaicans rule.

Here? No way. They all just do it, and not even they know why.
