      I hate that site. They have all the best game content but you have to pay for it in order to see any of the good stuff...

        I used to go on the site rather frequently, but now I've come to loathe it. I registered to disable the ads, but then I think they made it so that you have to pay to disable the ads. Also, when I registered, I distinctly told them not to send me any updates, but they do anyway. It even says on the bottome of the e-mail, "You have recieved this because you wanted to recieve content from ign. to change your subscription, click here" I gritted my teeth because despite blatantly lying (I most ceratinly did NOT want their stupid updates), I clicked on the "here", but all my settings where as I had set them, with nothing checked saying that I wanted updates. I re-clicked them all because I didn't know what else to do, but I still keep getting e-mails. To top it all off, lately, I find that the site is pretty much useless and never has anything except the most basic information about games that I could find anywhere else.

        so... no. I have a bit of a grudge against ign :o

            IGN has just changed for me, it was before my favourite review site, but now it just went to my worst. Good Job IGN!

                    I dont like GameSpy or IGN

                    GameSpy = Spyware

                    And gamespy is like a turd that wont flush, no matter how many times I click that uninstall button it stays there and runs. Thats what I get for using it to play Aliens Versus Predator 2 for awhile. =/

                      Yeah, Gamespy does give out spyware. But if you have protection, you can prevent it easily. Ign is just annoying.

                        IGN is my main game review site, though I don't care for their reviews much. I just snatch videos of upcoming games I'm looking forward to.

                          GameSpot is the best game review site in my opinion. If I want a review for a game, I just type this into Google:

                          [insert game title here] GameSpot

                          And ta-da, the first thing I get is a game review from GameSpot. :D

                            GameSpy = IGN, you guys do know that right?

                            I only go to GameSpot, and I use GameSpy to download stuff (FilePlanet). And GameSpy is a reputable server network for video games, so they aren't all that bad. And it's AdWare they put on your machine, but I've never seen it do anything. They are developing the Rev online network too.

                            As for forums, I go to g4tv.com and chat there.

                                I visit both IGN and GameSpot regularly, and I really don't favor one over the other; however, as of yet, I do not participate in their respective forums.

                                And ditto on what Anubis said; GameSpy is a subsidiary of IGN, and it is partnering with Nintendo to bring Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to both the DS (later this year) and the Revolution.

                                      GameSpy is really good on preview IMO. They give you detailed previews on the games that are popular. Gamespot is good for news.

                                      IGN is just a medicore game site in everything.

                                        Gamespy suck ass on everything but their downloads. Gamespot has trusted reviews/previews/news and lots of exclusives and IGN provides alot of extras with their articles. IGN and Gamespot are the big contenders, the others are just bluh. 1up.com is okay too though.
