To start out, I have an excellent computer with a good internet connection (preferrably cable), and it works at satisfactory conditions, but there is many a time when it slows because I run such programs as Adobe Photoshop or a certain MMORPG simultaneously. Then I think about some lucky individual living somewhere in the world that has some computer that could run more or a little less smoothly while multi-tasking with said programs open and running.
Though, I hardly believe that such a computer could do that without being brand new, or if you bought a better RAM card. So, I ask the certain individuals here that have a rather smooth-running computer if you had some tips to clear up my computer of the mess it is.

Get Ace Utilities, and Disk Keeper.
Ace Utilities is a program that deletes old/corrupt files and will make your computer run much smoother. Disk Keeper is a defragmenter that to put simply, BLOWS away Microsofts that comes with your PC. The one that you have by default, to be honest, is a pathetically slow moving program that takes like an hour for something Disk Keeper can do in 2 min. max.

Photoshop is a RAM whore. What else do ya expect? You usually want Photoshop to run the fastest anyway, rather than working in PS and playing a game at the same time. That just causes conflictions. It's either one or the other. btw, I can tell you how to boost your PS speeds a bit if you'd like.

Nah, I'm pretty patient with APS. Besides, I saw something similar to what you're talking about, Andross, and I didn't think much of it.

Edit > Preferences > Memory & Image Cache
Change max % used by PS to 70 or 80.
