Good day, fine sirs. I am Split Infinity, alias Split, as my friends call me. You may be prompted to ask of what was so bad about my beginning, as implied by the topic title.

Incorrectly typing in my email address upon registration, I found myself cut off from the entire forum, with no way to seek help in activating my account. Then I came up with the bright idea of using the Report button as an emergency form of communications with the Moderators, who coaxed an Administrator into manually activating me. To that Administrator, I take my hat off to you.

Anyhoo, I have been watching these forums for some time and I look forward to hanging out with its members.

Might I remind you that this was an emergency form of communicaton, and that there was pretty much nothing else that I could have done in that situation. Now that I can use PM, it shouldn't have to happen again.

And was I the one with the egg in my sig? That's because I don't post often here, and it took me a long time to get 20 posts.

And some where, you thanked me for remembering to call you Split. I didn't know I was supposed to call you that, I was just too lazy to type infinity, and SI sounds like some sort of surgery you get on your groin.. Or Surgical Incision. What-ever.

"SI" is an abbreviation for "System internationale" - French for "International System"

Basically, it's all the units like 'm' for length, 'A' for amps and 'kg' for mass wrapped up into one happy little package of joy so smart people from all differnet countries don't confuse the **** out of each other with different symbols for measurement. (Nice long sentence eh?)

Sí - "Yes", Si - "If" in Spanish. The accent makes the word different. SI now like MR said is the "Système International", but what the heck, this introduction has gone off-topic extremely fast.
