Is My Computer Wacko, Or Are Some Of These Boards Unbelievably Dead? Two Necroposts in Two Days...But the topics were on the first page...

I've been here for about a day now, and twice I've done necroposts in topics one or two years old. Thing is, I'm not digging around to find a dead topic. I've not got the patience to do that. The topic is right on the front page, and one of them actually said it was the most recently posted in.
Is this my computer freaking out on me, or are the boards just dead? I've not got to look at the age of threads in the Commons Room yet, but I checked the first page of the Gaming board (where the other necropost occured) and everything on it was about two years old.
EDIT: Just checked most of the boards. Every one of them is in the same boat as the others. Again, is this me, or are they supposed to be like this?

Haha, seriously though, its not that the boards are dead, but just that there is quite a few very active topics, as opposed to lots of semi active ones.
Besides, necroposting rules suck. Theres no point in them whatsoever.
EDIT: You are viewing the topics by "Last post" and not some other category aren't you. Might explain why you keep seeing old topics if you were.

.
As long as you have something interesting to add to the topic, do so. Most members here weren't here for the old discussions, so bumping old topics can create new discussions.

Sure there are some fans around here, mostly the newer members as the guy above me, Wind Seer (or whatever he's called) and yourself...
The more older members as Agatio, Eugine, Wind Dude and myself are concidering this place more as a social forum with some gaming discussion here and there. Also don't be affraid to bump a real old topic, but just make sure you atleast contribute something in it... Or post something worth discussing.

Well if you browe the different forums, at the bottom there are different ways of viewing the topics. The default setting is last post, btu I dunno, you might have changed it by accident.
But as I said before anyway, I see no point in anti bumping rules what so ever.

Then again, as everyone has already said, you can revive some old topics if you want to.

Internet problems, like the site not communicating well with whatever you have as an Internet connection MIGHT be the problem, especially because you bumped a topic in the Common Room more than a year old. Topics that old in the Common Room can't even be posted in, let alone viewed, by regular members.
We delete old topics in there automatically on a fairly regular basis but I think moderators and admins can still view them... but I've never heard of this kind of problem before. I doubt you're lying, but still.
