The sheer determination of Eugine to defend Sony and attack M$ is commendable.
Caaels seething frustration and irritation by the impenetrable wall surrounding Eugines mind is awe inspiring XD

I dont get why he's staking everything on protecting Sony since they really dont need the help, but come on, there's no need to gang up. It was ok with just Caael cos it was funny but...=/ 3 against 1 is just unfair!
I stand by my view that it really just depends what you're into. I can see the upsides of all of them, and if Caael enjoys playing his 360, then thats cool? Why does that have to be an issue..? o.o

That's the problem with today's society, everyone wants temporary happiness rather than long term happiness. Caael buying a 360 is an example.

PS3-Better system, hardware wise
XBox 360-Better game selection
Now that will most likely change with the coming year, but as it stands, the 360's library is bigger.

Gamerscore is even worse.
As for which version is better, overall the PS3 version is. Drastically shorter loading times, and less pop-in comes to mind immediately.
Don't bother bringing up graphics though, because it's just personal preference. The 360 version has more contrast and the colors are a bit more saturated. But for some, including me, feel that some places look too dark and some places look to bright. The colors are a little more relaxed and less saturated in the PS3 version, so it looks a bit more realistic. I prefer the look of the PS3 version, but some people might like the more stylized look of the 360 version.

I'm aware of the PS3 bias, but that still doesn't change the video.
If my opinion means anything, I've sat in front of a 360/PS3 side-by-side playing GTA 4 (on the same TV with the same connections) and they look identical for almost all parts. Perhaps some AA differences here and there, but nothing too major.

I have a wireless adapter. THe reason it is so bad is because if your console is in a different room than your wireless lan, you get weaker signals. Internet waves don't weave through doorways, they go straight out in every direction. If the waves have to go straight through 3 or 4 walls to get to your console, then that is bad news for you.
And second, xbox 360 accessories are cheap. The whole system is cheap. They break down a lot and so dooes an adapters quality. It just isn't consistent.

I would also be having a wireless connection for a 360 if I got one, is that bad for Live?
I also found a port in my room that looks like a phoneline, would that work with a ethernet cable for a 360?
Also, differences in Live membership? Gold, Silver etc.
#309
Posted 28 July 2008 - 02:10 PM
Gold membership means you can access all online features, Silver means you can do everything apart from play online games.
And wireless works fine, just make sure you have a good NAT or you'll be lagging all over the place. If the phoneline has an ethernet input on it, then it should work. Try it in your computer to see if it works.

Are you kidding? 20GB is NOTHING. I'm close to maxing out my 80Gig PS3 allready.
Oh that note, I remember reading about how I could get 500G (I think it was that big) harddrive for my PS3. How would I go about putting it in, and where could I buy one?

Yeah but you download shizloads of films. Plus blu-ray takes up moar space for downloading.
Its not even a 20gb HD, more like 13gb because 7 gig is already taken up by useless crap you cant delete.
But I cba to buy a 120gb one; i'll never use half the space, it costs loads and its really not worth it.

I agree with Skidz, 20gb is pretty crap, I'm glad the pro got bumped up to 60gb, even then I don't need that much, I just like to have a whole lot of demos and crap. If you could rip TV shows or Movies onto the hard drive then I defiantly would've gotten the Elite.
Speaking of which, my friends TV doesn't support HDMI so he gave me his cable, yet when I use it I don't get sound, just picture.

And don't knock Halo online. Sure the players are absolute twats but it's fun with the different maps and stuff, and sometimes it's fun to have a unrealistic game as opposed to online Cod 4 where I die every 2 seconds.

You can rip shows/movies onto your computer then move them over to your 360..
And I download shizloads of films/music onto my computer, yes, but my PS3 is just filled with game saves. Only 60 songs (250 songs is a G..do the math), and like 10 pictures.

Go on your profile, change settings and change theme.
Gears 1 is still in the top 10 most played online games, but its probably better to get gears 2 now.
The party system means you can join up with a group of friends and chat to them all at the same time, whether you're watching a film or playing a game together. Basically a multi-chat feature that other people can join.

Oh sorry, don't check the M$ section often.
I believe Sony themselves made a guide on how to upgrade the hard drive. But basically what you'll need is an external USB hard drive large enough to hold everything currently on your PS3, and then a 2.5" SATA 2 drive of the desired capacity.
2.5" drives are designed for laptops (hence why they're an inch skinnier than the standard 3.5" desktop variety) so they're more expensive. Though they're also less prone to data corruption due to being bumped/jarred/etc.
Plug the external drive into a USB port on your PS3, and then look through the menu for a backup/transfer option, and transfer all of the contents of the drive. It's supposed to be a pretty quick process. Once that is done, turn off the PS3, open up the HDD bay, pull out the old drive, and put the new one in. Start up the PS3 once you're finished putting it back together, and transfer the contents of the external drive back onto the PS3.
I found an article on it here if you need something more in-depth.
Also, if you want a 500GB drive, I'd suggest this one. However, this one here is faster (which will reduce game loading times by a fair amount, if it turns out that the PS3's HDD is a 5400RPM model).

Just so you know, let's just call it "Microsoft HQ", puts the games on Live and then the regions choose the pricing for the games. Microsoft Canada has Mass Effect at $30. I have heard that Microsoft Australia really gave it to you guys up the ass.

"I knew Shadow Complex would get good reviews. You cannot emulate the Metroid series and go wrong. Metroid <3"

First game played: Halo 3. And I suck. TERRIBLY. But it's okay. I got to shoot at my friends and annoying people, which was awesome. If only I could do that in real life!
LOVE: being able to use netflix without a disk, ability to download demos, connect to my computer using windows media center and and and...everything.
DISLIKE: It's so fucking loud. :|

You get used to it pretty quick. I noticed a lot at first but it doesn't bug me. I wouldn't have traded a DS Lite in for it but since I've got a crappy original DS it seems more important.
@Caael: I think the stranger thing would be if she traded the 360 in for a DS.

I got my DS and then they released the DSi right after, so I got that too. I just hadn't gotten around to selling the lite.

I'd say Square messed up but I'm sure they probably didn't even notice.
