Tensions with the Japanese were increasing rapidly and because Japan and Germany were allies sort of made us have to go to war with Germany to. Now if Hitler had been smart he would have not declared war on the U.S. when we declared war on Japan. Then he could have taken over Europe while we were concerned with Japan and then move on to us when he was done. But he didn't

To clear something up, we went into the middle east to kill terrorists because they killed Americans. We then went into Iraq because Saddam DID pose a threat to the U.S., despite what many people would like to believe. We're still there because Iraq still needs us to be stable. If we pull out, it'll be like Vietnam all over again. Infact, that's practically what it is right now.

During Vietnam, the hippies (who are now Democrats, beleive it or not), thought that if we pulled out and left it alone, the two sides would come to an agreement and be at peace. Well, as we all know, that backfired big time. It turned into a bloodbath. There was peace though, but only after all of one side was dead.

Same thing will happen here if we pull out before Iraq is able to stand on it's own two feet. They already have a decent sized military, and they have their own soldiers on almost ever street corner in the capital, or whatever, but they still wouldn't be able to hold their own against a rush of insurgents. Once we leave, the insurgents, no matter what kind of treaty has been put in act, will jump out guns blazing, shooting everything that stands in their way. And then the Demoscrats, or anyone who supported a withdrawl will say "Oh....well there was no WAY we could have known that would happen!"
