If you haven't heard of or thought about this game you should! It is an awesome rpg cel shaded game with anime cinema scenes! I want to know what you guys think about this new game coming out.

yeah, I've heard that it has seasons and weather changes and time that keeps going even when you aren't playing. and there are certain things you can only do in the different seasons. keep in mind I may be wrong, as this is just what I heard. looks pretty awesome, but I probably won't get it because I don't have the system it's on.

Anyways, I like this game a lot. The controls are easy to get used to and the graphics are decent if not great. The monster fighting can get a bit tedious but it's fun with all the spells and whatnot.

To switch which character you use is easy all you do is press y on the character you want and switch it with the first person in your party.

If you mean multi player then go to the person you go to techs and go up till you are at the very top highlight manual and whose ever conroller is in that slot controls that character.

Few weeks? More like a few months. The PAL version is schedualed for release in December. They have to translate an entire rpg into all the pal languages.

Join me in my misery :wacko:.

Hopefully they will make up for it though, and give us PAL people the PS2 extras :(.

Superb game, I beat it a week after it came out, last Friday. well, not really a week, but a week from when i got it. Took me 30 hours. Im way too good at rpgs, i should have rented it. o well it was worth it. Full of twists, even at the very end. Incredible, but it wont get game of year, not with metroid prime 2 and halo 2 comin out. One of those will get GOTY, because the prequels each got GOTY in 2002 and 2001.
02 was mp, 01 was halo.

The problem with co-op is that the only good people are lloyd and kratos, and zelos is ok.

The only reason it took only 30 hours wasn't because you are good but because you didnt do any side quests like beat sword dancer 3 different times. :lol:

They're making a PS2 version for Japan. The chances of it reaching America is very slim, and the chances of a PAL version even slimer.

It's also worth noting that the game looks very ugly on the PS2...

yes it will take more than 50 hours and a sword dancer is the four armed skeleton that u first beat in the ossa trail underground trail. The opne that sheena comes out of at the end of the ossa trail.

THIS GAME IS AWEOSME!!!! You should definatley get it. It has awesome battle and plot twists just keep the story going and you'll want to beat it over and over again. This game isnt a quick game either so you'll be occupied with it for a while. I give it .... 10 out of 10. This game is by far one of the best rpgs i have played!!

yes, you do get different 'costumes' for your characters for different classes.

I thought the ps2 ToS was only for japan :lol:. We never seem to get good exclusive 3rd party games. Soul Calibre comes to mind. They had posters for it that had 'for ps2 and Xbox on it', and the ps2 and X-box coming soon boxes had 'for ps2 and xbox' on them :P. Then, off in the corner on the small gcn shelf 'Soul calibre 2, for gamecube, ps2 and X-box'

I dont think anything has pissed me off more :ph34r:.

I've gotten a bunch of costumes: Llyod's "Beach boy", "Argh, me Hearties (pirate)" and "Nobleman"(like Kratos), Sheena "Successor", "You look Great!", and "Queen of the Beach," Genis "Easter Sunday" and Katz, Katz, Katz, Presea's "Little Madam" and the Klonoa one, Regal's Chef one, Zelos' Masked Swordsman, Colette's Mermaid, Raine's "No, not the Sun!" "Glamourous Beauty" and "Maiden". Those are the one's that are off the top of my head. There are 3 for each, but it takes more then one play through. . ..

Yes there is a multiplayer mode which is to say co-op. You can even continue a game. All you do is on someones status screen go up to where it says manual semi-auto and auto and you can pick which one you want.

I always go with semi-auto. It's what I'm accustomed to now.

I just think I'll share a thought on this game: The multiplayer implemented into it is really a blast. I was enjoying this game a lot playing singleplayer only, but now that I've figured out how to change other characters to semi-auto/manual from auto, it's lots of fun going through with other players. Also the boss fights are much easier, because most of them you can run up with all four guys and smack it so much it can't pull off it's strong moves. This is a plus and a minus, though, because it takes away some of the fun. But unlike many games like this, the multiplayer is well put into the game, and you don't need to start out creating a 'co-op' game; you can just jump into a saved game and multiplay it.

Overall, it's a great game so far. It gives me renewed faith in real-time RPGs, after the mess that was Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles. (just my opioion ^_^ )

I use manual, because I enjoy being able to run in and jump-attack with Lloyd.

Tales of Symphonia is a fantastic game, me and my cousin have logged about 150 hours on it so far, and beaten it three times. ^_^

it is a must get, BUT if you are good at RPGs, RENT IT! saves money if you can beat it in a week, but you need time to spend on it. If you had it in the summer, you coulda saved 40 bucks. 12 hours a day and you can win in a week like i did :mellow:

You know whats really stupid? I figured out that you could change who you fight with AFTER I get to Tetheala(however its spelt..) ^^;; So now I usually just stick to lloyd. Who do you usually fight as?

Lloyd, Zelos/Kratos...And thats about it...I like Zelos becuase you could do a 6 hit combos without using techs...

Nice advice CT but I bought GS not cause I was good at rpgs but cause I heard it was good plus everyone around me had a GBA and I didn't :mellow: TOS has been on my mind ever since it came out and it is A buy in my case no matter how fast I beat it but thanxs anyways CT

You can have Zelos or Kratos ya know? At Flanoir when you cure Colette you can choose depending on what you do...I recommend playing TOS twice (One with Kratos and other with Zelos)

I prefer Zelos as fighting but I prefer Kratos becuase his atttude is so much cooler...Kratos is slow but at least he has Judgement! ^_^

Try to beat kratos (you don't have to) for the experience and You have to beat Remiel but not Yydrassil...
I just beat the 2nd play like about a week ago...I gotta say not as amazing as TOP but still a pretty good game (better than star ocean at least)

I'm not sure what town you're talking about...
He only takes you to Palmacoasta and that's it...He will never ever take you anywhere else...
If you do want to get back to the continent Iselia was on you have to go northwest of Hima and then go southwest trough the small bridge...

OK forget what I said before I have figured it out now iam in tehe'alla the other world and Iam stuck in a town in Sybak. Clotte is sick and I need to save her but I need a key crest to cure her and I can't get back to my other world. So anyone know how to get a key crest so I can move on in this game.

Sheena has to be in overlimit mode (when you get his alot of times) in order to summon...Then use the summons...MEh...Just use her once to check out all the summons (like maxwell from TOP) and then never use her again...

You know when you fight of against yggrasuil(can't spell his name) your suppose to lose to him right caus eat first I thought you wern't suppose to and I restarted like 5 times before I found out how impossible it is to beat him.

The skeleton side boss is easy...Just defend...But its definately one of the longest battles...But its worth it once you kill the 3rd one...You get a good weapon...The 2nd strongest in the game...

What's really funny is if you have restarted the game with 10x exp, he won't be able to kill you. Me and my cousin were fighting him for the first time, and we were kicking his ass, so to say, the thing is: there seems to be a time limit. It only let us beat the crap out of him for about 5 minutes, then automatically wen't to the cut-scene with us having been beat up by him. ;)

My guys are level 15-16. It's recommended to kill the Sword Dancer in the Ossa Mine at level 15 at least. I try to get my guys higher than the recommended levels.

That's true GSNINJA but you are playing on the first run of the game...The point of the first run is to just see the story and get alot of grade....
Then on the second playthrough you should level up (10x exp)...and do all the sidequests, colloseum...etc.
Well...that's what I did and now I'm playing for the 3rd time in TOS...
Its getting boring and Llyoyd is a bad main character...Good fighter but bad personality. And he doesn't know that girls are all over him...

I have no clue where to get the costumes...
The 2nd Sword Dancer is in the Garach (the forest to go to Mizuho) forest...
THe 3rd one is when you get the airbirds and go to the Forest near Dirks house...(enter from Dirks side)
You get to choose between Kratos and Zelos by:

Zelos: Talk to Collete in the Scene with Flanoir...
Kratos: Reject everyone that comes into the room until Llyod walks out and you see Kratos...Later on he joins you (you'll have to Kill Zelos later)

Costumes can only be gotten if you have Zelos in the active party, basically, only if you pick anyone other than Kratos at the Flanoir scenes, or right after you pick Kratos but before you...

SPOILERS.

...kill zelos. For example, there are the formal costumes you can get right after doing the Princess Guard side quest. I think you should just check GameFAQs cause there are a lot of costume sidequests.

As for who is the hardest boss of the game, I would have to say Abyssion, mainly because he's much faster than the Skull d00d, and he attacks a lot more, he also has 20 001 more HP.
Living armor can be annoying because of his insta-cast, but that's it.

Hehe, yeah, this time I gotta get all the costumes, I could only get the ones that didn't involve Zelos last time because I picked Kratos....just because he's cool...*Sigh*

AS for the costumes. After awhile in the game you can go back to Mizuho and the chief starts saying things. You then head to the Thunder Temple and talk to the chief, who happens to be Sheena's grandfather, then you return to Mizuho, and after a few scenes you get the costume for Sheena. It works with the title. Presea's you go to Altamira after a certain time in the game, and head to the presidents office, and watch the scenes. She gets her new costume. For Regal, go to Meltokio after some time in the game and head to the stairs leading to the castle. You should find the Master Chef argueing with someone on the left side. Watch the scenes and Regal will get his new costume. Sorry, I don't know when exactly everything comes available, you'll just have to look for yourself...sorry :D

Sumoning spirits is not as good as it was in Tales of Phantasia...
You have to get into overlimit and it gets really boring just doing that...Besides...You'd get a low grade because of getting beat up...BUT spirits can save your butt early in the game (Undine)...
Meteor storm is the perfect move to kill bosses...
O.O...I do Cyclone and Ray...Just because it gives you more combos than indignation...135 was my highest...How could anyone get up to 200? Crazy

This is actually my second time around I never got ot finding Aifread on my first. On my second I plan on trying to do all the sidequests and on my third i plan on gettin all the costumes and doing all the sidequests. So I was wonderin if some one could terll me all the sidequests they know of. That'll be great thanx

You can get Maxwell before you fight the last battle (before that loser dragon guarding the door)

You have to go to the floating city (forgot what its called) and find a hidden path. At the end you will fight Maxwell and if you win you get meteor storm (for genis) and maxwell...

When you revive luin it becomes a big city...Its feels rewarding but you will need alot of money (fight the dragon in Gnomes cave to get 10,000 gald)...
You must put a specific amout of money everytime...

OK I still haven't beaten the game but if I play it all today I sure I can. OK I think Iam close to the end I have to beat up kratos who really is my........WEll you know then I have to unlock the last seal. So I am close to the ending guys.

Edit: ok when you guys say one of the two beast swords in the game you mean for Lloyd right not any of the other characters. Oh yeah beating up on Mithos was fun The guy was eeasy but the fight was so long He took like no damage from my attck only the magic spells hit him. GO GENIS!!!

Actually, if you look at it, the Nebilim is the best blade for Lloyd, especially considering that he's the character you'll usually end up using, he'll end up with the most kills. So the K is the second best blade in the game. The V blade comes close to the K blade but you'll be using many more slashes than thrusts, therefore, the K blade is better that the V blade.

Yestarday I had beaten the whole game and I was wondering how to open those chests that have magic seals on them so you can't open them. Also how in the world do you find costums I couldn't find it in the game also the floating Island in the sky why is it there I know the purblood eleves live there but what is it there for. Yeah Mithos what a wimp his attacks blow hes even weaker when he goes robot on you some final boss. Fighting kratos was more fun and Roydle. Another thing what happened to the tree what the name he gave it or are you not suppose to know thatr? Will there be another TOS? There better be.

Exire is the city of the half-elves, not of the elves. It'll be floating around over one of the oceans in Tethe'alla. There will be a dot where it is at the moment even if you haven't been there yet.
As for what there is to do ther, there is one recipe that can be gotten, and the final summon, Maxwell.
