Make sure you look at EX. Gems. I forgot all about them my first run, and by the time I was in the last dungeon I was playing as Kratos and discovered the 'Slasher' which is quite nice I suppose.... Make sure Raine has a 'Speed Cast' too. Those were problably my favorite.

Ok...Here let me list an example of family techs...:

Example:
Genis:

-Lightning
-Thunder Blade
-Indignation

Ok...Now You have to use lightning 50 times in order to get Thunder Blade BUT you have to get the tech first...You can get a tech by being that level.

I was merely correcting Gsninja becuase he said that if you use a tech more than 50 times and then you learn the move , you have to use the tech 50 more times...

I said that if you use a move 50 or more times and you earn the move, all you have to do to aquire it is to use it once more...

Now for combo techs (example: Sonic Sword Rain (Llyod) you're gonna have to get the tech first by the level and then to get it you must use it 50 times for BOTH techs. (Example for Sonic Sword Rain: Sonic Thrust and Sword Rain both 50 times usage).
But if you used both of them 51 times or more and then you aquire the spell, then all you have to do I use both the techs 1 time.

MEh I just beat the game once put in the cheat so I can learn moves faster and now iam at the Mana tower and I have already learned Lighting blade for genis which he has had for sometime. I wondering if you can have to compound unision attacks at once. Don't get what I mean here what I mean.

Lloyd and Kratos both use sonic thurst then Colette uses ring whirlwind and Raine uses photon

Lloyd and Krotos should both use a compound unision attack called Croos Trust and Raine and Colette should both use a Compound unision attack called Photon whirlwind.

OK if I do that will it work or not?

I don't think so. To learn Lightning Blade, you need to be level 37, and just have to merely learn Thunder Blade.

I gotta say yes, this game is great, the story is great along with the battle system which owns...andd.....the charecters and stuff are alright.

W00t, I got really far today. I beat Shadow, and fought Mithos in th e little....room....with...stuff....err.....yeah, I'm working on mainly Genis and Zelos' moves. I haven't gotten alot for Genis, and after I get most of them its on to Mr. SwordDancer3...my people are level 70, but by the time I fight him...I hope I'm better. I just did the formal costume, and I got Lloyd's, Collete's, Sheena's, and Raine's, oh, and Dandy!! Regal....*sigh*, I wanted to get all of them, I didn't even see Genis's.

I read somewhere that the voice of Presea is also the voice of Bubbles in the Powerpuff Girls and Rikku in Final Fantasy X and X-2. Meh.

If I get a new computer, I might try the Rolling Old Monkey for ToP for GBA. My GBA is better than my comp... Practically.
As for the voices in ToS, yes most of them suck, but I especially hate Colette, and the script is pretty bad at some points. I now hate the word regeneration.

I also think this game would be awesome as an anime. Not American anime but classic Japanese anime. It would start from the begining of ToS and go all the way through. That would be REALLY AWESOME.

You fight Abbyssion i the Shadow temple once you've found all the devil arms. Beating him activates their power, basically they do more damage if you have more kills. They easily do 1500 dmg for Lloyd by the time you beat Abbyssion. He's supposed to be the hardest boss of the game with 120 000 HP, and constant attacking. He's also very ugly. :joy:

You have to go talk to Abbyssion in Flanoir first to acquire the Nebilim, Lloyd's devil arm, and the Nebilim Key, which can unlock all the chest containing the devil arms.

What exactly are the Devil's Arms and where do you find them?

Well....okay, here. After some point(I just looked after I got the Derris-Emblem), they appear. Collete's you get automatically(Evil Eye) in Toize Valley Mine. Lloyd's you get automatically(Nimbleim I think). Regal's is at Walgaia. Head to the building with 5 stories and is empty. Go to the door on the right. Get the chest(forgot the name, they all appear in a black chest though, unless gotten a different way). Presea's is found on Latheon Gorge somewhere. For Genis's go out at night in Altamira(Make a reservation at the inn), and go to the casino. On the way to the theater, talk to the guy there and pay 1,000 Gald for the Disaster Kendama. Sheena's Gates of Hell cards will be found after you tell the gnomelette in Altessa's house to go home. Then head to the section with the dragon and head past him. Talk to the gnome things and go on to the chest. Kratos/Zelos, Near the end of Garrachea forest there is chest under vines. Just head up from Altessa's entrance and find the daggar. In Triet, talk to the man at the fruit stand. Then go up to the next screen and talk to the man next to the dog. Leave Triet and go northwest until you find a blue circle. Walk in and fight the worm. TADA. Now, Abbyssion should talk to you. For the last one, head to Hakonesia Peak and talk to the loser with the loser clown nose. Easy :D

the stats of devil arms is based on the characters total kills since the beginning of the game. You do not need to have the weapons equiped for them toi get stronger. And they remain at 0 untill you beat Abbyssion.

Whenever you equip the devil arms, your strenght will be the default, the difference will only be noticeable in the damage counter.
You don't get Colette's automatically, you have to look at the crushed spinning rock thing in the Toize Valley Mine, can't remember the name. Anyway, to be able to get all of them them, except for the evil eye, you HAVE to talk to Abbyssion, who gives you the Nebilim and the Nebilim key to open the chests that contain them.

I just beat abbysion and all I got was some jet boot and a symbol that remove all status affects. WHERE MY ULTIMATE TWIN SWORDS!! I never got them...great I almost lost to him too. He is tough only because he can cast spells much faster than you and he adds many combos when he melee attacks you.

I haven't reached Abyssion yet; I'm only at the Asgard Human Ranch, using the Deactivation Team :P . Anywho, I think you need the Devil's Arms equipped to have their attack power raised. They start as the weakest weapon, but there's no limits to how powerful the weapons can get. I'm going at such a slow pace in the game it's painful>.<.

Nope, the dmg for the devil arms are based on how many enemies the character using it has killed throughout the entire game, you don't have to have them equipped.
As for beating Abbyssion, the powerful weapons activated by beating him are the ones you need to collect to fight him, just equip those, the strenght difference won't show though, your strenght will go to your basic strenght, but the damage will change, especially for Lloyd, who ends up being the one who gets the most kills in the game being the most commonly controlled character.

The attack for the devil arms rise even when not equipped, it's not unlikely, it's confirmed.
As for the elf in Heimdall, if I remember correctly, he's on it's second screen, the one with the entrance to that forest place. I believe you also need the Derris Emblem to be able to talk to him about it.

yes, and it counts all kills from the beginning of the game. By the time you get the weapons, the twin swords should already be uber powerful.

As for levels, you should be at LEAST lvl 60 when you attempt Nilfheim.

Hmm I see I just have a problem of when you go in and Ireach the seventh floor then I choose one character and fight some eniemies I always get petrified and Iam always defeated that way. It makes me sick ;) . I get so far then because of this one enemy have puts me to stone and its game over.

I recommend this game...
The battle system is real time motion, meaning its not like final fantasy where you choose the commands...You, attack with combos just like a fighting game...But you move around on a field with your other characters (not controlled or controlled), casting magic. Pulling off a skill requires a string of buttons...
But it gets complicated if you don't play...Just go and get it and you'll see...
The only thing that should've improved was the Anime scenes...It should be as good as the ending and there should be more...

Remember that you have a choice between Zelos and Kratos...If you choose kratos, he will be wounded and decide not to go...

Its a game where its the typical Save the Girl/Chosen one and rid the worl of evil and you are the guy to do it...
But the battle system is Motion Linear or Real Time RPG, where you don't have time to select your moves and you fight as if you were in SCII kinda...except you have party memebers also...You can set them to CPU controlled or get a friend to play along...

Yeah but TOs has the nice feel to it when you play in the real time battle and it works really well in the game. you can get behind and in front of your enemy and do masive damage to them with consecutive hit counts. Highest 104 for me. Over 20,000 damage. Prisim Star compound attack rules all.

Co-op mode is one of the nicest things in T.o.S. Unlike most RPG's, you can have another person join you to fight. The skills and battle system are nice too. Unison attacks are great, especially compound unisons, more detail in that later.

IMO it IS the best RPG for the GCN. Im on my third run beating it. And it took me 39 hours to beat it without sidequest but when i do all those it'll take me about 75 hours cuz there are so many lmao

Yes indeed, an estimated gameplay time for this game is around 80 hours, which is quiet a lot. I find rpgs with a lengthy amount of gameplay are much better and well thought, this is no exception at all.

It took me about 53 hours, I think, it is a lengthy game with all the side quests. But I used a guide, so that helped out a lot.

Did anybody rebuild Luin, and get the cool items, baseball bat, toy sword, money bag, broom, paper fan, and more?

I've rebuilt Luin but haven't checked out any of the shops. I'm pretty close to the end now (Origin's Seal) and I'm working on about 65 hours. (I've been doing most sidequests as they come available) I haven't been playing it much lately, though.

I've done mostly everything in this game so far. All I really have to do now is visit the cursed book in Saybak and fight Mithos. The book is going to be more difficult then Mithos himself since I have already got Colette back in my gang and the book has two bosses in it. One of them has 120,000Hp. Crazy. It's like fighting Abbysion all over again.

When you guys rebuild luin, get all of the cool new weapons. Sheenas is the best though, it is the money bag, it dougles gald. So go fight that dragon where you fight the earth summon(I forget its name), the beaver d00d, he will give you 20,000 gald!!!!!!!!!!11111oneoneone11!!!1111one

The "beaver d00d" you were talking about was Gnome. He was simple, easy, and really annoying.

I only beat the game once because I lost most of my interest after beating it the first time, so I played other games. Now, I've started playing it a little more and I'm on my way to the Meltokio Sewers.

Echo_djinn, was the cursed book the book that sent you to Niflheim? I haven't been there yet, but I read that it was pretty tough.

Yes I am, but if you rebuild Luin, like I stated, you will get a new item shop, one of the items is Sheena's money bag, it doubles the amount of money you get. Boy, I got FILTHY rich.

I didn't bother rebuilding Luin. I didn't really care about it, since there were funner things to do...

The one-on-one battle with Kratos was much easier than I thought. It actually felt just as easy as fighting him with a full battle party, except the battle took a little longer, even though he has less HP...

You would be right. It's pretty easy if you have beaten the Abbysion and you use the Nimblem sword as your main weapon for Lloyd. The only problem is that each floor has a different way for you to battle the enemies there. There are two bosses one with 75,000Hp and the last guy with 120,000Hp. The last guys attacks are a mix of two attacks in one. It's sick. To bad it does so much damage to you. Anyways, I beat the guy after a couple of slashes since I have the best swords in the game.

I didn't finish with the best weapons, but they were still weapons good enough to combat tougher enemies. I never used any of the cursed weapons because I never bothered collecting them all and defeating Abbysion...but I should probably try that now that I'm playing through again.

Has anyone defeated Kuchinawa? IMO, he was actually rather easy, and the battle ended much more quickly than I thought...

I was never able to finish him off. that guy would catch me with a few hit then jump in the air and do some explosion move that you can't block against unless you use your guardian move. Plus He was a bit fast against me. I just blocked the whole match and put in a few punches. I can't figure out how the Computer controlled Sheena gets in like 7 hit in one move.

I had Sheena at level 57, and there's a way to dodge the explosion move: as Kuchinawa jumps in the air, run towards him so that you'll run under the attack and then...do anything, preferably with a normal attack combo followed by Pyre Seal. If you reach overdrive, use Efreet. He does great damage and is very valuable. Also, you should have the Guard Plus EX Skill, it's very useful.

Has anybody ever beaten Ygdrassial(spelled it wrong) for the first time that you fight him. You have to defeat him in so little time, nad my friend got ten times experience, and ran out of time, so, what level do you guys think you have to be, like, 60? 60 seems like the lowest level, maybe to low, to beat him at the first time, I mean, I beat the game at level 60.

It's not really timed. If you are too high leveled for him to kill you, then you keep fightning him until his HP gets to a certain point, then the game cuts you off.

The battle automatically ends once Yggdrasil takes 10000 damage. There's no way to beat him at this point.

Has anyone gotten the devils arms? I havn't, I died while fighting the guy who gives it to you, I should have used the all divide, (halve damage).

i'm in the uk and that game is already out here and i have to say it is one of the best games i've played. but it only has about two or there anime cut scenes the one in the magazines are from the bit before the title screen.

also the thing about time and weather change isn't ture.

Have any of you fight Zelos? What happens when you beat him and how do you fight him. I have collected all of the devil arms and beat Abbysion without using the all-divine tool. Has anyone seen Raine's mother of the floating city. If so what happens after the man gives you her diary? Do you have to go looking for her? Questions I wanted answered if you have the time. Holla to you all.

My highest level character with 10x experience is Sheena, and she's level 173.

Are you talking about Abyssion? It's more challenging if you don't use the All-Divide (obviously), but I have yet to try it.

I think it's cheap for you all to be using that 10x experience tool in the grade shop. Though it really easy to get through the game with it but you lose out on the fun of leveling up and taking the time to do it.

Anyways, yes Abyssion is who I am talking about but has anyone ever faced the Living Armor in the Nifilem book? His attacks are the best by far and he is quite powerful. I think he has higher attack points then even Abyssion. They both have the same HP(120,000hp) but he is much bigger and it's harder to inflict damage with because he is so big.

The Living Armor attacks are a mix of two different attacks which make it look sick. He is the best boss I have seen in the game in my opinion and after traveling in the book for so long and finally facing off against him makes him even harder. He has my vote for the toughest boss in the game.

It's all right when you've beaten the game several times now, I'd say. That's why you can't even get the GRADE shop until after you beat the game, and even then it'll probably be out of your range for a couple of plays.

ToS was a great game, but when i destroyed the Niflem book, i had nothing to level up with ;_;

Next time i'm gonna die when facing Living armor, several times. Just to start over from the beginning, and be able to get loads of experience! =D
