Yeah, there was an article in GameInformer. The story is about, Vincent ( of course), and he has to fight Shinra, because they are gaining power again, and they didn't say much else, but it tells more about Vincents life and other stuff. Thats all I know, so far.

FF Crystal Chronicles is not what I'd like to call a real Final Fantasy game. Period.

Crisis Core is NOT a sequel, it's jsut a game based off of FF7. it sopposed to bring the story of vincent out more than what FF7 showed.

CC was a multiplayer game and i played it single player and wasn't impressed, it doesn't help the end boss is near invincible and if you die you've got another hour hike to get to him again.

I discussed the Crisis Core on my other forum, which was met with general disgust, Vincent and Cait Sith amin characters WHY!?

another non-finisher here. I left at the part....don't remember the name...but it's the first time that you snowboard down that mountain, and end up in that old man's house, and then climb that mountain. I last saved inside a part of that mountain.

That's one of my favorite missions.

I think though, the mission in the Lost temple was a bit annoying, mainly cuz i got lost alot the first time i played it...

Anyone ever gotten a golden chocobo? I have, they are so friggin' great. Worth the crap they make you do to get it, cuz with it, you can go get Knights of the Round.

2 gold chocobos, one bred, one as a "gift" one killing ruby weapon, they're good for exploring and all but they're utter crap at the racing, the black is the best for racing by a long way. Knights of Round is worth the effort, even though my party is that strong i only need it against Ruby as he physical defense is pathetically high. Omnislash kills anything bar Emerald and Ruby in one.

Here's a challenge for you

Rules-Knights of Round and Mime are forbidden, lvl 4 limits are allowed as is 4x Cut, final attack is essential really.

I've done this a few times, even without 4x Cut and once without the Underwater Materia

FF7 was widely popular in japan, US, and Great Britian, but more in the US than anything else. That's probably why you can't find it.

FFX-2 wasn't that bad neither, I think it rocked. The story was the only element which sucked arse honestly for me. If it had a hardcore story with the battle system, it would be my favourite game to date.

I dunno...I don't think FF7 owns that much...the story? i'll give you that, it certainly does have quite a good story. Also, the materia aspect of the game allows for crazy weapon customization, which was something i also loved about the game. I dunno... maybe If i'd played it before FFX, i''d have liked it a lot more. But it's just, I do prefer a game that has rather good graphics. And, as I had played many other games that greatly surpass FF7 eye-candy wise, then i thought FF7 looked rather...plain.

great! another reason not to go to Australia, besides the spiders and snakes and things, the town a live in probably as enjoyably as a snake nest yet there's about 5 copies of FF7 in my local gamestation.

I like the materia system best. It makes you able to customize all non-mimit abilities. FFX had a good system too, the spheres.

And about knights of the round, it might sound funny, but i was advised against getting it...people says it owns a bit too much, and takes fun out of the game...according to a friend, a mastered knights of the round can kill the last boss by being summoned only 2 times...

Well, one reason you play FF7 is to own everything. I can get my stats incredibly high, and own everything.

And a mastered one takes 3, remember you can use a summon ONCE per battle without MIME.

no you can't, you can use a summon one for each level it is and as many as you can afford when mastered. A spot of boasting is in order, i've mastered EVERY materia and have every level 4 limit learned, even Aeris'. And my party are immortal with Revive-Final Attack, as for Cloud, put it this way he has more stats at 255 than he doesn't

Anyways, I was reading a game magazine yesterday, and it seems things aren't going so well for FFXII producers...They went on a tour of some of Japan's ancient temples to pray. Literally. well, i didn't mind the scenes, but i never took the time to see if there was any "skip event" option, like the one in FFVII. Now, the voice acting...it's really not that bad in my opinion, most games have worse voice acting. I think it'd be cool if we had an option where we could select language and subtitles...like in Onimusha warlords, for example. Then I'd choose the original voice acting (japanese) with english subtitles, which would surely sound a hell of a lot better

Get the international version, can do jap subs with eng voice, eng subs with jap voice or eng subs with eng voice etc.

When your're playing through again i wish X had a skip scene, and the talking is out of sync with the mouth movement.

Also, I'm a little tired of X2 also.

I never finished FFX. I just got bored of it after a while and then I just stopped trying to beat it. It was the same with FF8.
In fact the only ones I have completed are FF7 and FF1 ( as part of the Dawn of Souls advance version.)
It's odd as I can complete most other games fine. Clearly Final Fantasy can be more challenging than most others games around.

it depends...the extras can be evry difficult. By "extras" i mean, side quests and things of the sort. But the game in general is...normal, i guess, difficulty-wise. Oh yeah, Count the Chocobo Subquest on FF7, easy, but OMG it's totally depedent on patience, which I have little of. Other than that, the game was normal.

FFX had boring sidequests... I don't remeber any really fun one.

Yeah. I did the butterfly one pretty easily, but that damn chocobo race reduced me to tears. I got like 0.4 second's and that was after countless attempts. I gave up in the end- the Caladbolg will just have to wait.

Fun side-quest in FFX = Beating Omega Weapon and/ or the Dark Aeon's.

For you to get 5 Iron duke that means you have to beat FFX2 5 times right since you have to beat the Inferno in chapter 5 times?

Here's what you do to get multiple Iron Duke's:
1. Get to level 100 of the Via Infinito (easier than it sounds) and beat Trema, who is a major pain in the ass first time around.
2. Beat the game and access "New game plus"
3. Repeat step one
4. Repeat step two
5. etc etc etc.

And for everyone's information, Dullahan has 6 Iron Duke's.
If only there was something out there in Final Fantasy X-2 that required you to have six 'Dukes to beat it. That would be sweet.

Since when is that a bad thing? I think of it this way: Square-Enix make million's on a third installment on Final Fantasy X, and then use the profit to advance in their game-making abilties. Therefore, Final Fantasy XIII, IVX and XV will all be much better than they were without the funding.

I've been trying to get it for a long time, and I still don't have half done for all charecters.

I have it, you don't ahve to kill the monster in Oversoul, just see it, so i got a certain monster in Oversoul, then ran away and got a different thing of that species and Oversoul and repeat until the entire species has been Oversouled, also in the chcobo dungeon if you fight an Phantom and another which won't take long, wait a while and the phantom will put the other monster in Oversoul. Bear in mind doing this stratagey means you can get the garment grid but not use Finale ON YOUR CURRENT GAME, IT WILL AVAIBLE ON YOUR NEXT RUN THROUGH.

I got a video of what I assume is this demo. Basically, whoever is playing has control of Ashe, while Fran and Balthier seem to be fighting automatically. Looks like a hell of alot of fun as well, which was NOT my initial impression of this battle system. Trust me.

I'm an avid fan of both Turn based and Hack'n'slash. But for the Final Fantasy series, I think they should stay with the traditional turn based system. I'll make a proper judement once I've actually played it though.

Recently I played FF7. I started a new game a few months ago but I hadn't got very far. I hadn't even left Midgar.
Then I skipped to my other save file and did the end sequence again. I forgot how hard the final bosses were to beat.

I completely stopped playing FFX after reaching the inside of Sin's body. Sin wasn't even really all that hard, except that it was kinda stressing that I had to take him down quickly in the last stage before he could annihilate me with Giga-Gravitation.

I should probably get Dragon Quest 8. Looks like a pretty good game, and I wanna see the FFXII demo too. I also agree that the old turn-based system should be kept. i've always enjoyed that the most.

X is a really good game, imo. The only problem is that 2 of the bosses are really really hard, so you have to keep fighting in every monster battle to lvl up, so that your ready when you get to them.

I haven't personally played that one, but my friend told me that he got it last christmas, and it was horrible. He said that it has to be the worst FF game ever made. So, I never bothered to play it, but now I want to just to see if it really is as bad as he said.

There was one boss that made me give up completely. I can't remember what it was called but your characters are all stood on circles around it and you keep having to move them out of the way of the boss attacks. I think it was in a temple but I really can't remember.
I remember how long it took me to beat Seymour when you fight him for the third time. I was there for months trying to win and I just couldn't.

I think I know the boss that your talking about. I just summoned Aeons to fight him, and after an overdrive from Anima, he fell to his knees. :P

Like most people my favourite would be FF7. It's just pretty damn good. Final Fantasy: Dawn of Souls is pretty good as well.

the Easy Mode from Final Fantasy Origins, and there is no Normal Mode to be found. There are now 99 levels which are gained at a much faster rate than the original game. Any character that was selected to attack a monster that has since died or fled will now automatically select a new target. Many people will likely welcome that, but it does remove a large amount of strategy from battles. Also, every item, spell, and piece of equipment is sold at a 30-40% discount to reflect the rapid level up rate. The save system has completely been changed to where you can create a save at any time, both in the overworld and in a dungeon. One of the new changes made in this version is a plethora of new items sold at the shops (to include Ethers, Phoenix Downs, and items to cure several status ailments). There have been significant alterations to initial stats and stat growth for some classes. Among other things, this serves to make the formerly weak Thief class now a bit overpowered, as they hit many more times than the suddenly outgunned Warrior. The biggest changes are to the magic system. The Intelligence stat works significantly more when dealing damage/healing party members, so a Black Mage casting a spell or using its item equivalent would produce significantly better results than a Warrior using the same item. I think your right. I think in Japan it was Final Fantasy 6 but as some of them didn't arrive in the West it was Final Fantasy 3 over here. It's something confusing like that.

don't mention the battle system please not the battle system, it was awful. The plot to be honest was ****, characters uninspired, flawed leveling up system, make the incrediblt flawed leveling up sysytem and the end boss is unbeatable.

Well at E3 they showed a tech demo for PS3 that was the beginning of FF7. There is no official news of a remake though. You'll just have to wait.

Heh, I played Final Fantasy 10-2 for a whiule today. I can't say im hooked again, but I still really like it. i've found that one of the major turn-off's to that game is having to do things in a precise order, an order that one tends to forget about when they don't play it for 6 months.

Meaning, in order to get the elusive 100% (currently 95%) I have to re-read all those nasty guides again to remember what I have to do. What a major turn-off ^_^

If you get Dragon Quest VIII for the PS2, then you will get a playable demo of Final Fantasy XII. I played the demo, and I have to say that it's the strangest battle system I've ever seen o.o

FFX-2 was a pretty good game. The Gunner's Gauntlet was fun. Blitz ball was so horrible, I completely ignored it. My favorite classes had to be the Dark Knight and the Alchemist.

The only character I never liked and never will like is Wakka. Google info on him if your curious as to why. The other charcter's all had good backgrounds/ stories. Hell, at the end you find out one of them is actually a "ghost"

The growth system basically involves moving the characters around a huge grid. This grid has stat boosts all over it, as well as abilities. To move your characters around the grid, you have to "lvl up" by fighting feinds and gaining AP points. Each lvl up grants you one move, but you can activate a maximum of 4 abilities/ stats per move.

At first, I detested this method of growth. But once I got used to it and figured out how to abuse it, it was all good ^_^

You really need to play it to fully understand how it works though. Or get someone to explain it better than I can.

ok, so I played some more FFX today, and I am happy to say that, for the first time, I'm close to finishing. It's my second play-thru, but i didn't even get halfway during the first. This play thru i'm taking my time. I've already got Tidus, Wakka, Yuna, Lulu, and Auron's celestial weapons fully powered-up, and don't plan on powering up Rikku's or Kimahri's, as I barely use them. I've also done extensive monster-capturing, and will start customizing armors for the final battles in the story line. I just beat Sin today, and am now "inside Sin". Something else I look forward to is the Omega ruins, which i definitely won't skip.

:o why is it a waste of time? i think Lulu rocks with her Celestial Weapon. Doublecast+Flare with 1 mp cost and booster (which brings it to 2mp) is a very damaging attack. Besides...to me dodging the volts isn't that hard. Anyways...the only weapons i don't plan on fully powering up are Kimahri's and Rikku's. I simply don't see any use for them. I mean, I have Kimahri's weapon, only powered up with the Crest, and having the weapon alone lets Ixion break damage limit, and that's all i need. I've tried the butterfly game tirelessly, but 30 seconds just doesn't seem to be enough. I can only get to the 6th blue butterfly within 30 seconds and not touching the red ones...dunno why, juss doesn't seem feasible. As for Rikku's...doesn't power up any Aeon...i juss don't really see it as very useful

I haven't played FFX for a while. Well, I've been playing blitzball, but hardly the main game. If I play again, I'm still not gonna bother with getting the Celestail weapons. I'm fine as it is.

For those who play FFX Blitzball, if you don't have Brother, get him. He's the most awesome midfielder, and basically beats the **** out of any other midfielder. He's got good stats that a shooter, midfielder (duh), and defender need.

very true. I did play a LOT of blitzball this time thru, and, yes, I'd have to agree that in the early stages he's probably the best player you can get, for any position besides goalkeeper.

Rikku's overdrive is amazing and a must for any party thinking of killing penance and friends, double flare ohhh, although it's pretty powerful it just doesn't pack enough of a punch and takes too many turns, quick hit+255 strength everything dies

ya, I do get Nemesis...but I don't know if i really wanna spend the time to catch 10 of every capturable monster...which should be fairly time-consuming. I'm inside Sin, want to finish the game, and the only 'extra' work I'm planning to do is the Omega Dungeon. As for Ultra Potion: no, hehe, not bad at all.
