I've never properly used the special dresspheres, I just use them randomly for fun. I like the fact that along with the girl there are 2 'supports' as well, otherwise I'd be put off using them at all.

Here Here. lol
I wanna know how she managed to get the "Zanarkand Abes" logo sewn into her top. It's not like spira has a Sewing sevice or anything...
On a completely different tangent to everyone else;
I have officially taken up FFX again. That's right, the lack of sun light has begun to show and the over use of my thumbs is more apparent than ever. Auron is casting Ultima at a 12th grade level and countering nearly every hit he takes for 70 000+.
FFX isn't a game. It's an obsession.

Stupid dark Shiva though. *sigh* I went to fight her, but was totally unprepared. (my overdrives were set on Victory. lol)
A big mistake on my part. Meh, I'll try again tonight.
SO far Ive beaten Valefore, Ifrit (I think- can't be bothered checking), Ixion and Bahamut.

ALL the aeons in FFX-2 were easy. *had iron duke*

I didn't have the Iron Duke, nor the Invincible, but I had the Crystal Bangle, Kaiser Knuckles, Cat Nip, etc., which were still more than enough for the evil aeons, Vegnagun, and the final boss.

-Ribbon
-Break HP limit.
All on one set of armour.
Your party = demi-gods.
----
Oh yeah. I'vre found ALL the celestial weapons, but have only activaed Kimahri, Auron, Yuna and Rikku's. I can't get under 0:00 time in that goddam chocobo thing. *screams*
Nor can I dodge 200 consecutive lightning bolts.

Not true IMO. Auron's is.
You get the crest on the old highroad, and the sigil when you do a certain amount of stuff in the monster arena- which isnt much.
Tidus's + LuLu's sigils are hardest in my opinion.
Yuna's is pretty easy as well. I got them both accidently. lol

FFVII was great - up until the golden saucer. Know why? because after the battle with Dyne, my game freezes. I must've beaten him like 50 freakin times, and as soon as i win, buuzzzzuuu. It crashes. Perhaps it's because I have the illeagal PC version... meh.
FFX rocks my socks. I know all - even the name of every feind memorised (not really). Seriously though, I love this game and DO know nearly every little thing about it. Go, ask me anything. lol

That sounds like the package that I got. 30 bucks? heh, I got mine for $99 AUD. (The average price for a new release game) So im happy, and not taking it back. Because in about 6 months, I turn 18, and am eligeble for my own card. *glee*
While yes, Blitz is fun. VERY fun, it gets monotonous

FFx is the best.
Has anyone beaten ff8, i get on the third disk and it freezes in the dungdeon. After you attack the sorccess. any help?
what did you guys think of blitzball in ffx-2? i liked that sphere breaker game more.

It's quicker;
More strategic (I like to use my brain, contrary to popular beleif);
meh, I havent played in a while, so Ive forgotten what I like about it. lol
Sphere break is easy once you get a 1,2,4,5. It makes any number between 1-9. Heh, I liked collecting coins more than actually playing sphere break.

Dark Knight/ Samurai (Paine.)

Black Mage (Always a favorite)

Blue mage is awesome: especially whn all your girls have "cry of the night" which is kindly donated by a red HP, Oversouled Mega Tonberry. Other goodies include heavens cataract (which I learnt the hard way. lol) and the all time favourites: White Wind and Mighty Guard.
IMO, black mage sucks, due to the fact they only learn the primary elemental magic's. Better off getting that uh.. GG (the name of it escapes me at the moment) that lets you cats ultima. Meh. Ultima. Nuff said.

Just like old times. =]
One day when this cyclone was about (I remember this becasue i was stranded at our beach house for the day), I must've played blitzball for like the whole day straight. I racked up so many wins and rare items I laughed my self to sleep. lol
Dullahan, did i tell you I finally a [b]an[/i] Iron duke off Trema? Well worth the gruelling Via Infinito. =] It makes a new game plus SO fun.
Aurons last overdrive is a Spoon to get right. lol. It took me like 6-7 goes to do it. =]
As for the dark Aeons in FFX, I never really fought them, but your Yojimbo Strategy sounds awesome (I've never heard of it before).
So far, I think I've got Ixion, Valefore, Ifrit and Bahamut. I've never even contemplated fighting Anima. His millions of HP reduce me to tears to much.

Yes, I beat Vegnagun using the Lady luck dress sphere, where they in fact throw playing cards to attack. lol

Giga Graviton doesn't exist, mega graviton does 9/16 of your max HP.
Sin is an insult one and he's dead, 2 hits and Jecht's dead, challenging stuff.
Most of the monster arena isn't worth fighting anymore, Neslug is annoying, Shinryu Tidus or Rikku can kill single handedly, Ultima Buster is a joke and Nemesis is the only thing that possess any challenge even then he gets maimed with a few autolifes
I feel sorry for whoever playing star ocean, the end booss is an absolute b*****d and the ending is the worst i've seen, the plot in that game is woeful.
Vegnagun is easier than sin, he's lucky if his damage gets to double figures, that's right double figures, Shuyin was doing 9 a hit.

I felt upset when I beat Angra Mainyu as well. They never should of put in the Cat nip dammit. It just begs to be abused with Trigger Happy and that dice move (The name of which escapes me at the moment). But without it, Paragon AND Trema would be impossible to defeat. Literally.
But were not here for the piss weak final bosses. Were here for the awesome storyline and gameplay. Arn't we?
Guys?
#748

I beat Paragon and Trema quite easily with Catnip, but i ahve finale, which is much, much better, go through the gates on the end and select the command, 99999 every hit thank you very much, with three people doing it not even trema last very long. Paragon is an insult i killed him with attacks and he could barely hurt me. 255 defense and auto protect equals 510 defence.

FFX = Best story I've ever endured.
FFVII = Best Weapon Customising. Ever.
FFX-2 = Addictive, non-tedious battling. Always something else you can do.
I found it a little weird that FFX-2 was the first of the series without "summoning" (Correct me if im wrong). Special dress spheres don't count.
By the way, what's so bad about the storyline of X-2? It nicely ties up the loose ends of FFX. Sure, it could of being a little better in its delivery; Yuna transforming from the fragile summoner to the red hot adventurer so easily was to unbelievable for me.
Other than that, the series of events from beginning to end all made perfect sense (bar Yuna's personality inversion of course) and were all relevant to the resolution. 'Cept that Bast*rd Tobli. I hated that lil midget. Yup Yup.

Yeah, it starts off pretty slow, but it gets you used to the gameplay etc. For instance, when I first got it (Hired overnight) I was ready to through it out the window becasue of the battle system. But given a bit of a chance, I came to really enjoy it.

you think that levlling up normally is better? i LOVED the sphere grid thing, and i thought it was a unique element that separated ff-x even more from other rpg's.

The sphere grid had it's pro's and cons, definitely. While throughout the main part of FFX, it was pretty tame, and easy to use, once you complete the main story and start side-questing, it becomes TO easy to complete and outragiously easy to abuse, if you know what your doing of course.
Weapon:
Triple Overdrive
Triple AP
Overdrive -> AP
[anything] (I had poisonstrike)
Withing minutes of playing at the omega dungeon (or inside Sin) you'll have about 10 sphere lvls. Without a doubt. Keep going for an hour or so, and you'll have shizloads of moves. =]

FF1 is classic, I mean it's just fun and addicting, I'm about to beat it again. Played it as the original.
FF2 - Good Story, but the way the characters get higher stats is sorta annoying. Played it through with FF Origins.
FF3 - I remember playing this as a rom, I didn't understand it all cuz it was in japanese, so it was kinda annoying. I didn't finish it, but it was ok for what I had played, just kinda dumb at spots cuz i don't know japanese.
FF4 - This is with Kain and such. Alot of FF gamers love this game and would probably die for it. I like it too. I played it through FF Anthology, barrowed of course.
FF5 - This one, I don't quite remember it. I played very little when I borrowed Anthology. An RPG with a complex job class system.
FF6 - Just as popular as FF7, this game was pretty good. It's story was pretty good, and the character development went well.
FF7 - Along with FF Tactics, this was my favorite RPG. Great storyline, nice materia system, and it wasn't linear. Theyre was plenty of sidequests to keep you busy.
FF Tactics - A great game. most people take one look at it, buy it, and never play it. I'll tell you that it's never collected dust here. The character development was great, and unlike FF Tactics advanced, it actually has people plotting betrayel, murder, and all that good stuff. Definitly worth a play.
FF8 - Well, this game was good, Most old school FF gamers don't really like it. I thought it was Ok, but it did miss some key elements that make FF games. But still, it was pretty good, character development went well for the most part.
FF9 - This game mixed the elements of fairy tales with the elements of an RPG. Talking animals, reduced technologies, yeah, the works. it was good though. Characters each have special traits and abilities. Weapons give out abilities, sort of like FFTA. It was good, but not as good as FFT or FF7.
FF10 - I actually liked this game. There were some translation errors. For instance, Yevon was the name of their god and their religion(church, temple, whatever), which was odd. So when Yuna said she was no longer with Yevon, but she did everything in that "Yevon way," it made me think. Either way, it was a good game.
FFX-2 - This game was like playing Dress-up with Charlies angels. Not very good story-wise, and battles were kinda dull without good old summons. Yuna also looked a little strange in this one, and Pain was a bit annoying, they tried to copy Auron. *shakes fist*
FF Tactics Advance - As most FF gamers would say, FFTA is a poor excuse for a game in alot of respects. For instance, the laws were annoying, but easy to get by. In fact, the whole game was easy. I never had a problem with anything on the game. Never lost a battle, bosses were simple. Blah. They also changed key elements that made it an "FF Tactics" game.
The others, I have not played (except for Origins and Anthology, which are collections).
EDIT - Woops, forgot to add FFX-2. I'll do that now.

Are they like those old game boy games? You know "32 games in 1" type thing?
----
I loved FFV. Admitedly, I got the ROM etc (I hope no feds are reading this), and played it non-stop for hours. Loved the class system, and it is very obvious that they utilised it in FFX-2. Story was pretty cool as well.
Only thing annoying about it is it's difficulty, or rather, the lack of it.

I will now rate the FFs i've played. (Graphics are rated on time of release and power of console)
FF 1 (Dawn of Souls GBA)
Gameplay- Very simple, yet addictive 8/10
Graphics- Vastly improved on the original, still not like Golden Sun 7/10
Lifespan- Not too long but not short either, no subquests 6/10
Story- None existant. 1/10
FFness- You get to choose your party at the start and there is a suprising amount of combonations, magic and equipment are here as are Black MagES 7/10
Total=29/50
FF 4 (PC)
Gameplay- Much improved, attempt at ATB although speed stat seems to be random for enemies 8/10
Graphics- Not the best but they do the job 5/10
Lifespan- Pretty short but there are some subquests 7/10
Story- The've had a go, character development is weak as most characters are killed off but there is a basic plot but little sub-plot 5/10
FFness- Very FF, chocobos, moogles, black mages, summons and even Cid 6/10
Total=31/50
FF6 (PS1)
Gameplay- Simply suberb, the esper system is genius, the Atb is working, the sheer amount of characters leads to a lot of depth i the combat 10/10
Graphics- The CG is pretty but the ingame hasn't been improved 7/10
Lifespan- A good 30 hours a of intersting game with plentiful sub quests 9/10
Story- Very good plot, attempts to develop most characters, great villain, some good twists 9/10
FFness- Everything FF is here,along with a huge amount of depth to play aroud with it all 10/10
Total=45/50
FF7 (PS1)
Gameplay- Magnificent the materia system is second only to the espers, the jump to 3D is done masterfully, a total revolutionary 10/10
Graphics- Great at the time especially the CG, nothing had been done like , although it is incrediblt dated now. 9/10
Lifespan- A massive game (3 Discs!) Easy 50 hours of gameplay and many subquests and things to level up for in the form of weapon. 10/10
Story- Best story ever, every character is fully developed, Sephiroth is the perfect villain and the of the plot twists are infamous in RPGdom. 10/10
FFness- Most of it's here as wel as the invention of limit breaks that are to become a staple of future FFs 9/10
Total=48/50
FF8 (Ps1)
Gameplay- In my opinion a step in the wrong direction, the junction system restricts magic use and it's easy to become dependent on GFs (even if it is an excellent system), the card game is excellent though 8/10
Graphics- Utterly groundbreaking, brilliant in every aspect. 10/10
Lifespan- Despite the fact is has an extra disc to FF 7 it takes roughly the same time to complete, many subquests such the masterful Card Game and the huge a mounto ftraining required to beat Omega Weapon 10/10
Story- Certainly a few problems, the emphasis in science fiction is not welcome, it is called Final FANTASY, character development is superb, plot twists are pretty lame, Seifer is a crap villain as are the others. Plot unfolding cut scens are incredibly dull, especially the infamous Trabia Cutscene 8/10
FFness- Most of the classic stuff, summons, limits, chcobos aswell as a few new things like Moomba and a game spanning mini game. 9/10
Total=45/50
FF9 (Ps1)
Gameplay- Utterly fantastic, brilliant battles, great setting and the Ap system is superb although the Stones system is pretty poor, Character uniqueness is excellent too. 10/10
Graphics- Like FF8's, only better. 10/10
Lifespan- Another 4 discer, takes a good while first time but can be doone in under 12 hours if you're really good and want Excalibur 2. Sub quests are there and whilst the chocobo quest is easily the best of it's type, the card game is random and irritating 9/10
Story- Fantastic, great development, twists and a great villain, even if parts semm irrelevent 9/10
FFness- Moogles make a welcome return, chcobo's are great, summons are still here, but limits are gone for the flawed trance system. 9/10
Total=47/50
FF10 (PS2)
Gameplay- Great, the sphere grid is a welcome change to standard leveling up, battles are done with the CTB adding another welcome change, the equipment system has be revamped too.10/10
Graphics- Simply magificant, some of the best graphics produced by a console. 10/10
Lifespan- Gigantic, the main game lasts for ages and there is a stupid amount of things to do at the end 10/10
Story- Chinks start to appear in 10s perfectness, characters are particularly well developed and the cast is weak bar Auron, the plot twist is kindof predictable ans Seymour is a crap villain 7/10
FFness- The battle stuff is here, limits and summons, blitzball is not a welcome addition, the chocobo's are almost irrelevent and theother FF classics are reduced to Lulu's weaponry. 7/10
Total=44/50
FF 10-2 (PS2)
Gameplay- Superb, the single best FF battle system, the ability learning system is perfect as is the inventive dressphere system and most of all it's incredibly fun to play .10/10
Graphics- Excellent, ven if it does have more glitvhes than 10. 10/10
Lifespan- Epic, square have finally included a new game plus feature enabling the game to last forever, the mainstory isn't particulary big but there are tons of sub quests which can done repeating on different runs through. 10/10
Story- Very poor, it's funny and the three main characters are well developed, however the villain is pitiful, the plot is pointless, you can't help thinking square made this as a cash in. 5/10
FFness- Most of the classic stuff is here, but in Cameo form, moogles and Cait Sith are now a dressphere, and the FF rules are missing, no summons and no limits. 5/10
Total=40/50

My turn. :D
FF1&2: Dawn of souls
Gameplay: Not what I'd call fantastic. I liked buying each different magic skill. That's about it.
Storyline: Evident, but lacking drastically.
Lifespan: Played it for a few hours, and moved on to something better. Not brilliant.
8/10
FF2 (Original - ROMl)
Gameplay: Quite difficult interface in my opinion. Too hard to play.
Storyline: It's there. Somewhere. I didn't get far enough into the game to actually understand it. But I will. Someday.
Lifespan: About 57 minutes. I speak from experience.
5/10
FF5 (Original - ROM)
Gameplay: Fantastic. Being able to chose each character's class and change it whenever you like is just good stuff in my opinion. But the main male is called "Butz"? WTF?
Storyline: Square-Enix (Squaresoft back then) finaly decided to step up a notch in this one. Though not as good as VII or X, it's still there, building a nice foundation for the latter Final Fantasies.
Lifespan: Im up to 12 hours. I have and airship and my average character lvl is only 23. Only reason I stopped is because I got hooked on some other game. However, I could easily go back to play it again. Great game.
9/10
FFVII (PC version)
Gameplay: Materia rocks, battle system is quite civilised and the 3Dness is just great on the world map.
Storyline: Sadly, Im only up to the the part where you have to kill Dyne. Still. My computer decide's that it's to good for this game about then and decides to mentally implode (stop) It sucks. The storyline however, is great. And I can tell that from the small fraction of the game that I have played. I must get a legit copy of this for my PS.
LIfespan. You can only kill Dyne so many times before it get's incredibly boring.
9/10
FFX
Gameplay: In my opinion, flawless. Spheregrid and easy battle interface. Need I say more?
Storyline: Impecible. Nuff said. I still day dream about it.
Lifespan: Well over 100 hours. Many a side-quest and plenty of room for character improvement.
9.9/10
FFX-2
Gamplay: Somewhat better than it's predessessor, FFX. Full control over class and thus each character can be who, and what you want her to be. Downside: No males. Why?
Storyline: Dam good. Nie way to tie up the loose ends. Although, as I stated a while back, I can't beleive Yuna's Transformation. People just don't "change" that fast. Could of being better
Lifespan: Three words. "New game plus". Incredible non-linear gameplay and that dreadful Via Infinito will keep you going for hours on end. Terrific.
9/10
FFXI
I wish I wish I had a credit card.

rofl. They are NOT gonna make the final fantasy version of star ocean...they are just gonna implement that little element from star ocean into FF XII. It'll just make it a bit different than other ff games, but it doesn't mean that just cause you can actually see the enemies running around in the map, the game will be bad...besides, it's not even officil that they'll do it...

Star Ocean wasn't great, well the second one was but number 3 was above average.
And Izar i don't acknowledge "the world is dying" as a storyline, the characters never speak so character development is none existent, there isn't even a proper villain, and such as linear predictable pointless plot can't have any twists can it?
Don't get me wrong FF1 is still great fun to play it's just the story sucks.

No onto FFXII I found out that there will be a new magic setting for the battle mode. Green shall be it's color and it will consist of magic support for your group. Also when you get into a battle a line from you attacker will show to your target to help reduce confusion on which enemy your attacking. Once you get into a battle scene you character on the main field will automatically shift into a fight stance with no interruption as in no pause then the scene changes into you and your group lined up for battle. You will just make contact with the enemy and start the battle which adds to the realism.
To bad I don't have a PS2. Check it out on Gamespot if you have not already. Sorry if this is old information. :)

I think Square has reached and past their best gameplay wise in 6,7,8,9 and now they're trying new ideas which is fine if their good like ff10 and 10-2 but bad if they're like ff11 and crystal chronicles (which a sequel has been confirmed for).
