Yeah, sorry about the Earthbound mistake, Aquamarine. I just hope they release a Golden Sun 3 before fans give up hope. So does anyone want to suggest any gameplay ideas. Such as what kind of class you think they might have or any ideas. I think they should include dual type Psynergy like they did with the summons. I also think they should have co-op moves like the one you can do with the Earth Djinn "Meld" from Golden Sun 2. You know the one who let's you and a party member attack a monster at the same time.

Well, now that you mentiond Earthbound, there's still hope for a GS3, mabey they'll say something at the Tokyo Game Show. But if you havn't read the last 5-7 or so pages in this thread, I suggest you do. Unless you don't want to... But it is true that Camelot is making an RPG for the Wii. I personally woud prefer it to be on the Wii rather than the DS since the Wii has more to offer.

Anyway my view on whether there should be a gs3 have not changed. I still believe there is enough loose ends to develop another story (sheba’s parents, the jupiter clan, ALEX, those kids with powers, e.t.c). And with the imagination camelot has, a pretty darn good game too.

Now whether I believe whether there will be a gs3..now that’s changed slightly. I am a GS fangirl but not as much as to cry over there being no gs3. Upset, yeh but not to the point of whining. I hope there is one but if they don’t..well there are a ****eload of other games out there.

Anyway I have thought of two possible ideas for a gs3 story

First is that there is another similar world to weyard. They use elemental (or similar like light and dark) powers and all. However they had a different system to locking elemental power. Now this concept can lead to an explanation as to why the powers were locked away ( and I mean a detailed one :) but hopefully not long enough that an old fart talks on and on about it…) and this story doesn’t have to be revealed in the next game. It’s possible that there are more worlds who, I dunno, formed an alliance to do this. And then if they do decide to end the series have alex as the main villain.

Second idea is that they could find the origins of how summon entities came about. I mean I know summons are created from djinni but the actual entities had to be summoned right?

Well whatever camelot does, I am gonna buy it if it does come out ;)

I don't know, I liked the idea of Weyard being flat. I think it's easier on the development to have it be flat, rather than making it round, because then you'd have to make the world loop itself if you get what I mean.

Weyard is flat, based on old history where everyone believed the world to be flat where water falls at the edge into space. It is NOT an "alchemy chaotic world", young one, only space. The clouds would be they're way of covering the space, to not raise further questions nor make it look strange that a flying boat is'nt sucked into space. Read the topic on Wikipedia, the free encylcopedia.

Perhaps they're keeping GS3 a secret to surprise us with in the future, to keep us anxious and slap us in the face next morning. Perhaps it's a whole new RPG that has nothing to do with GS3, all we can do is wait for further intelligence from the Tokyo Game Show.

I still plan to be a PC Gamer long into the future. But I'm finished with the constantly updating console market. I'm tired of constantly looking forward to the next system and the next games on those systems. They look good and everything but I'm tired of updating.

I guess it'll be the same deal with a PC, but if I get a really good one, it might just last a while.

I could never be a PC gamer. Sure, I do play a few PC games, but all computer games are the same. FPS's, strategies and RPG's. Maybe a few racing games too. Also, you would have to upgrade your comp at least once a year if you would want to play the newest games which need a powerful computer. If you get a console all you need to do is buy games for the next 5 years. And maybe a few memory cards. And you wouldn't be able to take your PC to University now, would you?

It's just that there is a bigger variety of console games than there is of PC games. On consoles, you can find every genre of game, while you can't for the computer. Sure, it's quite rare to see a strategy game for a console, but they do exist.

Really? The only genre that I can think of that the PC really lacks would be sports games, since the PC isn't built to control sports games unless you have a gamepad. However, the Xbox 360 has a controller that you can actually plug into your computer, and since it's predicted to be a hot item at Christmas, this might change.

I think there will be a Golden Sun 3, probably for the Nintendo DS. I think that there was something overshadowing Alex, someone who wanted the power of the Golden Sun. So in Golden Sun 3, Alex is dead but the spirit overshadowing him is alive and wants to get back at the Wisw One and Isaac and Felix and company.

I found this idea for a Golden Sun 3 from a forum on Neoseekers. This guy thinks that GS3 will be a prequel. I dont fully agree but it sounds pretty interesting:

A young man (I'll call him Jared) lives in the Golden Age of Men as a member of the Venus Clan in Northeastern Gondowan. He must makes his way through Venus Lighthouse and retrieve the Armor of Gaia at the lighthouse aerie to be accept by the Clan as full fledged Adept. This will be the first quest. After success, there is a celebration held, but a member of the Mars Clan crashes the party. He steals the Breast Plate of Gaia, and runs off. No one understands why the Mars Adept would want to steal an old, symbolic piece of armor with little monetary value until it is revealed by the Chief Elder of the Venus Clan that the breast plate holds a great amount of the power of Earth. It is also part of a four piece set that when put together gives the owner great power. It’s called the Armor of Elements, and apparently the member of the Mars Clan plans to use it to dominate others. The other three belong to the other clans, one of each element that includes: The Helmet of Hermes, The Shield of Sol, and the Boots of Atteka. So, Jared volunteers to track down the Armor of Elements. It is agreed that Jared will go on this quest, but he will be joined by the assistant Elder, Dominic. So they travel Gondowan and Angara uncover clues where the Mars Adept went to, run into Djinn, learn psynergies, meet a Jupiter and Water Adept who join the quest to protect their objects from theft, but are unsuccessful. The Mars Clans steals the items and leaves a monster loyal to him for the group to fight. Basically, this group tracks the Mars Adept around Weyard, and they visit places like Contigo with the flying ships and Imil with the fountain of Hermes, etc. The group manages to stop the Mars Adept from obtaining all four pieces of armor. They have a showdown at the Mars Lighthouse. However, Dominic had his own ambitions for going on the quest. He betrays the group, and steals all four pieces. He reveals that he will use this armor to steal the Stone of Sages, and will use the armor to force the clan Elders to revel the location. With the Armor of Elements and the Stone of Sages, Dominic plans to rule Weyard. He tries to kill the group but the beacon of Mars keeps the party’s life-force going. By the time the group recovers, Dominic has gone off in search for the Stone of Sages. Jared and the rest of the group go back to the Venus Clan Elder to warn of Dominic’s intentions. The Elder admits he does not know the location of the Stone of Sages. The Elder instructs the group to go to Sol Sanctum and seek the Prime Elder, the most wise and powerful Adept Weyard has ever seen. Jared had always thought it was a myth, and the Wise One, as the Adept was called in Legend, did not exist. Before leaving, tragedy strikes. Dominic comes to the village settlement of the Venus Clan and threatens the Elder to tell the location of the Stone of Sages or else. He couldn't obtain any information out of the rest of the clan Elders so he’s angry. The Elder says he doesn't know, and Dominic uses the power of the Armor to cause a major earthquake that destroys the Venus Clan settlement. Thinking everyone's dead, he goes off. Jared and company manage to survive. They have no choice now but to seek the Prime Elder. They find him in Sol Sanctum. He tells the group that only one item can defeat the Armor of Elements, The Sword of Gods, and it can be located in Lemuria. Lemuria is of course beautiful and advanced, the envy of Weyard. Jared and company find the sword and return to the Prime Elder. However, they were followed by Dominic! He tells the Prime Elder to revel the location Stone of Sages. The Prime Elder refuses, and Dominic uses his Armor to hit the Elder over an edge. He turns his attention to Jared and company, and he fights them for the sword. However, the sword manages to negate the power of his Armor. It might seem that Dominic might win when a large, floating rock with one eye appears. It gives Jared and company a second wind. Dominic is defeated. The rock turns out to be the Prime Elder who used his psyneregy and the Stone of Sages, he had it all along, to turn himself into the floating rock, which will forever be known as the Wise One. Jared devotes his life to the study of Alchemy. At the end, it is explained and shown through cut scenes that Jared and friend help the Wise One later one seal the beacons of the lighthouses into elemental stars for the peace of Weyard. The stars are then hidden in Sol Sanctum awaiting the arrival of those who are worthy of the power of Alchemy.

1. The Wise one claims to Alex that he transfered it to Isaac via the Mars Star
2. Yes, he did. But it wasn't the amount he expected, as it was already transfered to Isaac. Not enough to take the Wise One's eye out, apparently.
3. Alex then taunts the Wise one and he taunts back, then Alex pushes The Wise One back with Alchemy, but mount Aleph collapses. Not before Alex realizes his power was cut short.
4. Brigg's son with weird Psynergetic powers.
5. Sheba fell from Anemos so she says, and Faran took her in.
6. It's a grey plastic cartridge with data of an awesome game. Put it into your DS lite/GBA, it's good for you. ;D

Anemos is actually the Moon. But obviously it has some people on it's surface, since Sheba came from there, so the new GS could happen up there. I think that would be pretty cool...

I think thats the part of their city that didn't fly away. So Dullahan is pretty that all his friends get to go flying around Weyward while he's stuck in some dank of musty building. But then he found a shiny tablet to stand in front of, so he's happy again.

Making the characters and storyline is actually the easiest part of making a game you know. You forgot about all the programing and other complicated stuff they would have to do. Besides, I wouldn't want to know before hand what will happen and which new characters will appear.

I'm sure they receive a lot of ideas from fans every day. The problem is that half of them are illegiable and the other half don't even get looked at. Even if somebody sent some sort of master idea in, they wouldn't use it.

I was just thinking, Camelot left themselves enough room to make another game if they wanted to, but unless they needed a real boost, I don't think they will. The end of TLA had a decidedly final feeling ending. But they left themselves Anemos and Alex and all sorts of other stuff just in case they felt the need to make sequel.

It hasn't even been announced, though the creators said they would like to make a third part, but tis seems unlikely now that Camelot won't be making games for Nintendo, at least for some time. But if they do start making it it'll most likely be for the Wii, since there was an unspecified Camelot RPG being made for it.

I say that the Wii Camelot RPG will never even exist. They possibly started it(that was probably a Golden Sun 3), but they canceled it after they parted ways with Ninty.
I think it's always possible though. When next years E3 comes and goes and there is nothing about a GS3 I will be convinced that a GS3 will never exist. But they could always revive the franchise in a few years time, as Nintendo did with Metroid and a few other games.

My last shreds of hope went after this year's E3. It just seems that the gap is too long, and yes I do know about longer gaps for other games. I also don't think GS is that popular. It has its fanbase (us) but ask outside of there and most people wouldn't have played it. Like SoT said, it's no Metroid.

GS3 is still in my mind, being 2 or even 10 years ago. call me a stubborn fool, but w/e. there's still so many things left unaccounted for from the 2nd one for there to not be a third one. (plus, isnt it always the third one that they wait a couple years before releasing them? think of spider-man 3.)

I would much like to see a GS3 too, and i think although it may be unlikelt right now, Camelot may end up getting round to it if we wait a few more years for a new handheld to come out - then it'll be like reviving an old game, which happens fairly regularly i think. Im hopeful anyways o.o!

There aren't really enough big things left unanswered to warrant a 3rd game, in my opinion. Not only that but the end was pretty much 'that's it'.

There's been phony pictures floating around the internet for years now. The only way we would know if they're real, is if the Camelot website confirmed a GS3. That hasn't happened yet, though.

In answer to your first question, Camelot has stopped making games for Nintendo. I'm not sure why, but they just don't anymore. That doesn't mean there might not be a GS3 in the future, but it would not be on a Nintendo console. (As is my understanding, I'm not sure about this. Can anyone confirm it?)

Well, the rights to all things Golden Sun belong to Nintendo, so it's not impossible(even though it is highly unlikely). It wouldn't be made by Camelot though, which would probably just give the whole game a totally different feeling.

Oh, that would just be horrible! Camelot, even in their sports games, had nearly perfected the GBA sprite. The environments were crisp, making the graphics impressive. If any other game-maker were to make GS3, we would see a watered-down product that would only please the biggest of GS fans.

Well who knows, it might actually not be badly done, but I still would like the game to have a simmilar feeling to the previous two games. I mean, Nintendo gave F-Zero GX to Amusement Vision(SEGA), and they made the game better than Nintendo would have done(not saying Nintendo is bad of course...). But I highly doubt Nintendo will do anything with the GS franchise.

Yeah that's a good point. At the time I would have been worried about a GS3 on the DS, the DS was bigger and 70 dollars more. The system is smaller, cooler, and cheaper now, so it wouldn't be that big of a deal to buy the system.

But that doesn't remove the fact that there's a very good chance there won't be a GS3 for the DS.

I just want to point this out. Right now, the closest indication we have of a Golden Sun 3 game is word from over a year and a half ago, that Camelot was working on an RPG for Nintendo's next-generation console, still called the Revolution.

Yeah, but usually there's news that a game is going into development before it actually goes into development. They started work on GS2 very soon after GS1 was released. But as far as we know, no work has been started on GS3 as of yet.

Yeah, came to tell you all not to give up hope. Now, even if Camelot doesn't make a GS3 someone else can. Keep in mind, Star Fox used to belong to Rare, but Nintendo bought it and contiuened the series by hiring other companies to the games for them.

You all know the Digimon anime, right? Well, it was on Hiatus for 3 years and alot of people gave up hope of a new season appearing but a new season did appear eventually know as Digimon Savers.

I wouldn't give up hope just yet.

You're wrong about Star Fox. Star Fox has always belonged to Nintendo, the first two or three games were made by Ninty itself. Then Rare started making Dinosaur Planet, with a main character that looked a lot like Fox, so Nintendo decided to make Rare add Star Fox elements to the game, so the game would sell better. After Rare was sold to Microsoft, Nintendo decided they didn't want to make Star Fox themselves anymore so they just gave the licence to other developers, but the game still belongs to the big N.

Camelot wasn't bought off, it left Nintendo on its own account.

As for ideas for GS3, I don't have many, if any. So don't look my way if you want to hear something good...

Ether was what I was thinking of when I first mentioned it, since it was the fifth element of Greek alchemy. The main reason it's ignored is that ether is basically "stuff we don't understand" (for example, the stars, the moon, the soul, and and the bottom of the ocean were all said to be made of ether).

Exploring the unknown is really the only place this series can go. I think that whatever could be over Gaia Falls could be very intriguing, and would make a great story for another game.

1. Babi's dead.

Actually, it's not unlikely. TLA is direct continuation of GS, and really the one thing that makes then separate games is that they have a different main character. Add that to the fact that they never referred to lost age as GS2 officially, and it makes sense.

lol, that's how my game was, the game was going to conclude with the party facing off against alex, since he gained his power from the lighthouses being lit, I had it where you and the party re-visited each of the 4 lighthouses once again and went to the basements to extinguish the flames

I had it where you could choose one character for each element [ex. felix OR isaac, piers OR mia, ect.], you start off in vale in either isaac's house or felix's house, depending on who you're playing as and you begin the game by getting together your party [all 8 characters are in vale from where you left off at the end in the second one] then you'd climb mount aleph, once you got to the top you fought alex. I set it so you did good damage against him, but he just had like 100000health, so even though each hit was like 100 damage, it was still nowhere near enough. on the 3rd turn he used pyroclasm and it struck everyone for like 5k damage. I planned to end the game 1 year after arriving in tolbi in the first one, you would fight alex as the final boss fight in colosso

I think that there should be two editions of GS3: One for Wii, one for DS. If you have both, you can trade items back and forth between them, and on the DS version, you can get extras if you have Golden Sun 1 or Golden Sun 2: TLA inserted into the GBA slot- the farther you are in GS1 or 2, the more extras you get in GS:DS.

As for Wii extras... I dunno. :/ Possibly the Virtual Console?
