Well, I have always wanted to know what it's like to be a vegetarian, long before I saw the documentary. So even if there options for fairer treatment of animals and such, I'd want to go through with it, at least to see what it's like and see how it feels. Thus far, I really have to say it's been oddly refreshing. Somehow my body doesn't feel as "taxed" or have as much burden on it, though that might be a placebo.

If in time I decide to eat meat again, I will definitely want to be mindful of where the meat comes from, and in what way the animals are kept and slaughtered. It's great that your family is into agriculture, what do they grow?

It wasn't just the fact that "it's a cow". There were reasons ranging from me wanting to shake things up in my life ("what's a good lifestyle change I can do...") to curiosity ("you know, I've always wondered how vegetarians do it") to health (lower risk of cardiovascular disease) to boredom (as in, bored).

However, the documentary did play a huge role, and I will never again look at the food industry in the same way again. It was more than the fact that they were animals being cruelly treated. We can say it right now that it comes from a cow, a sheep, a chicken, and so forth. You "know" it all along, but they are worlds apart in putting them together side by side into what it once was.

I'm not going on a save the cows campaign all of a sudden. But the shock of putting those images together (and not just food, but in clothing and other uses) has not gone away yet. I feel as though a part of me has woken up, I really cannot explain it. It's as if years and years of walking in grocery stores and passing by aisle of aisle of this food, and eating them in such varieties and dishes, now finally 'makes sense'. It clicks in a way that I just can't explain.

Did you enjoy the RPG aspect of Mass Effect? It was stream-lined in Mass Effect 2. Personally I found it to be an improvement, but I can understand it being seen otherwise.

They cut down on the amount of items you deal with, too. There are only 2-4 different guns of each type and for the most part, one is a clear upgrade over another. You can decide which weapons your team is carrying by accessing a weapon locker on the Normandy and on various planets, or at the start of missions. Shepard is the only one who can customize his armor, which is a huge relief for me. Fucking item management was tedious in Mass effect ;_;.

They removed the Mako and the feature that had you driving up the side of mountains for 15 minutes for little to no reward. Instead, to get resources you scan and probe planets from the Normandy.. and the resources you obtain are used to purchase upgrades for the Normandy and for your weapons & armor. A lot of people dislike the new mining system, but I think it's preferable to those annoying Mako segments.

It's widely agreed upon that Mass Effect 2 is a huge improvement on its predecessor. I can't really remember much of Mass Effect 1; I hadn't even liked it enough to finish it. Mass Effect 2, though? I immediately started a second playthrough after finishing my first.

Yeah, same here. IZ GOOD, there are lots of bonuses depending on what you had on your completed ME1 save.

If you were level 60, you would start out ME2 at level 5. If you were rich in ME1, you'd get a good chunk of bonus credits in ME2. I'm also pretty sure that if you import an ME1 character you get 10k of all minerals which is a big help.

Asked around a few more forums and unless I wanted to spend 200$, 250$ for a headset, my best bet was the Turtle Beach PX21. And most high end headsets will let you hear the game sound through them.. mine aren't full surround sound, but stereo is more than enough if you're not playing for money.

Was definitely worth the money though; I'm able to hear people behind me from miles away, and you can actually tell which direction shots are coming from.

I ended up getting the Turtle Beach, and it's great. Nice and light so you don't have to take them off after long use (tritton, i'm looking at you), you can choose to use just the mic or have the game sound come through the headphones, there's a volume control to change chat and game levels and a bass boost control. And most essentially the mic, and game audio quality is amazing. Obviously, if you have nice 1000$ speakers with surround sound, stick with that, otherwise the quality is great, and never really peaks (gets fuzzy, in layman's terms) unless you have the volumes at an unreasonably high level. You'll be able to find it for 80-100$, but it's well worth it, and you're going to be paying at least 50$ anyway for the piece of shit PS3 headset.

tl:dr, go with the turtle beach px21.

Actually, it isn't a problem. You can choose to play the audio through your TV speakers using the HDMI cable aswell as the headphones.

And nothing's wrong with it, per se, just the quality of the audio isn't that great, so it's hard to understand what people are saying a lot of the time. Also, it's just a mic, so no in ear sound.

And ya, I'll be buying that thank you. Always wanted a sackboy, pause.
